The front seat track disengaged under hard braking throwing me violently into the steering wheel and caused me to lose control of the vehicle, nearly causing an accident.

Driver's seat completely detached from vehicle frame and was loose from seat frame box. 2004 Jaguar X-type. Frame was replaced. Appears that there is a series problem with driver's seats on this model. Jaguar has a hidden warranty on the front seat of some vins in this model due to need to shim tracks. Dealer advises that there is no recall on this VIN for front seat issues. Car had approximately 47000 miles on odometer at time of seat frame failure. Obviously a driver's seat which comes loose from its attachment to the vehicle is a severe danger.

Transfer case burnout had internal manufacture defects. Temperature coolant sensor over heated and completely melted, causing car to overheat. Driverside door panel clips detoriated. Dimmer light knob had 2 replacements and continued to brake. Car went for servicing, car was fine before servicing, car came back from dealership with break pad and rotor problems. Dealership replaced original car break pads with faulty pads to damage rotors and have me as a customer pay for a service that is not warranted. Car also came back from dealership with an engine tick and tire grinding sound that it never had, dealership service manager said it's normal to get out of engine inspection when these sounds are new sounds that had never existed. Gas cap filler came cracked at time of purchase, car was taken to dealership for that replacement, car was brand new with this defect existing at time of purchase. Car leather seats are deteriorating, fading, peeling, chipping and cracking. Passenger side visor snapped off. Driving traction stability light comes on and off with out being switched on. Car feels like it has no shocks, car rides over small rode bump and feels like it ran into a big whole in the rode, when pavement is completely smooth, dealer says shocks are fine, but the car did not have this effect until it came out of service for the defective transfer case.

At only 46,000 miles, vehicle suffered catastrophic transmission failure, resulting in estimates ranging from $8000 (Jaguar rebuilt) to $3000 (local rebuild) for repairs. Car was, according to dealer, out of warranty by registration date, leaving me with the entire rebuild bill. Jaguar knows about the problem of X-type transmissions failing and refuses to address the situation. Emails and letters sent to Jaguar hq have all gone unanswered. Since I received the vehicle, the transmission has been replaced, headlight washer covers have both blown off during use, sunroof has failed, both front seats rock (Jaguar has a TSB out on this but fails to recall), mysterious dsc failures and many fit and finish issues (dash pad warping, paint issues, etc. ).

I own the following automobile: 03 Jaguar X-type sajea51d33xc89540. This car was purchased in July of 2002, from howard orloff Jaguar in chicago illinois. This car has given me nothing but problems. I have had the car serviced several times last year, for engine ticking, and the check engine light coming one. This year, I have had this car serviced three times for the following: 1. Tick in the engine 2. Leather discoloring 3. Carpet coming from under molding 4. Heating vents coming out of dashboard 5. Rain sensors not working' 6. Windshield wipers not automatically working 7. Hole in carpet on driver's side 9. Being locked out on several occasions, the alarm switches were not working, and the key would not open the door. 10. The transmission gear box has been replaced, because the transmission jerks, and there was a ticking sound coming from the gear box. 11. The car would not start; they had to replace the battery. I am having the car towed tomorrow for the following reasons: 1. Ticking in the engine 2. The check engine light keeps coming on 3. Abs system malfunction light comes on 4. There was an excessive amount of brown "stuff" leaking from under my car yesterday. 5. When I got in the car and cut on the heat, I did not have any heat. 6. The car would not start, three times in a row. . . Then it just started up 7. The car will not allow you to take the key out of the ignition although this is an entry level Jaguar, the car does not have that many miles on it, and it should not be giving me these major problems. . . Especially the same issues over, and over again.
Passenger seat belt indicator lights up at random times when my wife is sitting in the passenger seat. (when the light is on, the seat belt will not deploy!) the problem is on going. Jaguar was witness to the failure and has attempted to fix the problem on several occasions. The repair efforts have been unsuccessful and further attempts to have Jaguar correct the problem have resulted in Jaguar claiming that all aspects of the seat are up to design specifications. They refuse further corrective measures. This particular problem does not occur when my wife is in the passenger seat of other vehicles.
While driving on three separate occasions the vehicle's ignition failed which caused the vehicle to stall. The consumer stated the problem was due to insufficient rear adjustment of the drivers seat, the drivers seat needs to be increased by 2 1/2 inches to the rear because he knee comes in contact with the ignition and consequently shutting off the vehicle.

I love my jag, but drive shaft replaced 4x - whistling noise due to incompatible metals, front seats rock, windows malfunction, brakes have rapid wear less than 30,000 miles, tires replaced less than 30,000 miles, dealer is trying to solve problems.
Steering column shimmied when depressing brake; steering column made rubbing noise; two tires blew out; electrical malfunction light turned on; poor fm reception; front seats rock. Mr.
The consumer states that the chrome ring around the cup holder was replaced. The drivers seat finishing towards the bottom had completely broken in two and was replaced as well.
Both front seats rock.
