2010 Jaguar Xfr. Consumer states engine malfunction the consumer stated his wife was driving 70 mph on the interstate when the engine suddenly quit running. The consumers wife managed to maneuver the vehicle to a narrow strip between the outer left edge of the fast lane and guard rail. The vehicle would not restart; and the dashboard display said engine malfunction. Prior to the incident, the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer because the low level fuel light was always illuminating just after a few miles of driving; even with a full tank of gas. As soon as the vehicle was returned to the consumer and he started the engine, the low level fuel light illuminated again. The consumer was then informed a new gas tank would have to be ordered because the sensor in the gas tank was obviously defective. The dealer installed a new gas tank and the light never came back on.
