Other Fuel System Pump problems of the 2011 Jaguar XF

Vehicle subject to apparent fuel starvation. Engine cuts out and cannot be restarted. Sometimes when stationary and sometimes when moving. After a period of time it spontaneously restarts, typically next day. Aaa towed and replaced the fuel pump with oem part, but it does not help. I can provide receipt if needed. Appears to be very similar symptoms to the 2010 and 2013 Jaguar Xf recalls, but Jaguar indicates that my VIN is not covered and I should contact the dealer at my own expense. Persistent problem. . . Dangerous and not fair! this happened 4 times so far, most recently yesterday. Car has apx. 56k miles on it.

Vehicle died while driving and will not turn over. This happened a few times before. My mechanic tells me that it is the fuel pump and that they were able to start the car by banging under the car near the fuel pump location. Jaguar has a recall on the fuel pump relay for my car year and engine, but the Jaguar national headquarters says that it doesn't apply to my vehicle. Seems like a similar problem that should be covered by them.

The in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated as the fuel pump relay is not energized following a vehicle startup cycle. An inadequate supply of fuel to the engine could result. Fuel starvation to the engine leads to engine stumble followed by engine cutout with minimal warning and could potentially cause a crash, I was in motion doing 65 mph on a freeway and the car stop with no warning . I had to tow it to my house. A week later the car started again but the mechanic advise me to replace the fuel pump based on the recall.

Had a 100 miles left in tank got gas filled it up left gas station got on freeway doing 70mph car stalled no warning no nothing almost caused major wreck. Had to tow car home didn't start until next day got code p0627 meaning a bad fuel pump relay which is already a recall on the same year and engine 5. 0 v8 Xf but not on my Xfr 5. 0 needs to be recalled and paid for.

My car has a strong gas smell inside and out it is leaking fuel underneath the car when you lift the backseat up the fuel is shooting out, I took the vehicle to Jaguar and they said there is a crack in the fuel pump flange. I called Jaguar corporate office and they stated that there was a recall on that part but my car was never serviced for it. I am not the original owner I have had this car since February 2016.

The contact owns a 2011 Jaguar Xf. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 10v332000 (engine and engine cooling). The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

The original fuel pump on the car failed on 3/16/16 resulting in engine shutdown and subsequent loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. A new fuel pump with Jaguar part number c2d25079 was installed by Jaguar Land Rover carlsbad, CA. This replacement fuel pump also failed on 8/19/16 resulting in loss of vehicle control while driving on a city street. Another fuel pump with the same part number was installed on 8/24/16 by the same dealer. We are concerned that we may have another failure while driving which results in the engine shutting down with subsequent loss of braking, turning, etc. Repair work was performed by Jaguar Land Rover carlsbad, 5660 paseo del norte, carlsbad, CA 92008, phone 760-404-5600.

The fuel pump failed for a 2nd time. . . We replaced it underwarranty 6 mos ago. . Friends are complaining . I called Jaguar USA they have no interest in this. This is a highly dangerous condition very common in this model.
