Electrical System Problems of Jaguar XF

Dynamic mode alert locked up several times and panel was unresponsive intermittently and rear passenger footwell filled with water. . Cause is described by Jaguar dealer as rear window leak that passes through rear tail lamp and floods under the spare destroying the pcm module. Car surged once in driveway and I was blessed to hit the brake. Never again. I have waited more than six weeks for repair and Jaguar refuses to take responsibility for the problem.

To the best of my ability id like to explain why my car does not operate . I have taken my car to two Jaguar dealership and have talked to rocco' s european car repair shop as well and the all say that what is defective with my car is the central junction box. When I asked them all as to why this does not function they all said its a known problem with the car specifically due to "water ingress" leaking from the windshield wiper pump and on to the underside of the central junction box and my wires are corroded and cause electrical failure as the say water and electricity are not a safe combination. With this malfunction my car no longer starts . Yes of course my car is available for inspection and it has been confirmed by both hennessey Jaguar of atlanta and Jaguar south atlanta both have provided documentation as to the necessity to change the central junction box and both dealership's are not privately owned and not connected to one another yet they state the same reason as to why my car will not function. Yes my 2013 Jaguar is a dangerous vehicle to drive as the car doors spontaneously opened and closed on their own the interior lights turned on and off and some other malfunctions engaged even when not engaged to do so I believe the breaking system also flashed traction control turns on even though I didn't ask it to be turned on. I am afraid that my car with water in the junction box could lead to an electrical fire as told to me by numerous mechanics yes my car was inspected by both dealerships in atlanta and both diagnosed the problem and being the "cjb. " the symptoms initially started with my doors mysteriously locking and unlocking and then other electrical problems occurred after that. These symptoms first appeared in 2021 and there were messages that flashed on the dash message especially one that said see owners handbook I may not be sure of the wording but that's essentially the message . This is my best assessment of the problems.

Car shutdown powers completely off in rush hour speed traffic and will not do anything cant get it in gear or anything do to faulty electric components and faulty fuel pump and its components this is completely a fatality waiting to happen for the car owners and the on coming traffic vehicles this is real bad this also made me and my wife anniversary day the worst ever we are scorn for life.

When you slow down, the vehicle cuts off completely. When you turn the car on, it's almost as if the gas is not traveling somewhere and causes it to take a while. Having it cut off on the highway is a very scary thing. I see recalls yet they're acting as if my vehicle is not affected by it.

My car also has the ongoing issue of the panel located between my speedometer and odometer the screen will randomly flicker and go out and then come back on I have notice the temperature when it's hot affects it worse that the winter but it happens all the time which scares me as I don't k ow when my car has issues as this is the only area that it will tell me my car is overheating amongst other notifications I called Jaguar and they want to charge me $3000+ to fix this. This is a defect nd should be replaced and not at the cost of the owner of the vehicle.

Car shift knob will get stuck randomly.

When my car started up I notice that the screen on the stereo system was just flashing and never came on also the car started over heating and check engine light came on also there is has leaking from the right rear passenger side door below car is in the shop now with $2,745 dollars worth of work being done to it.

Scheduled recall j077 on 1/23/20 at north jaquar (18205 interstate 45 n, houston, TX 77090) and was denied recall and turned away. My vehicle had to be towed to repair shop on Saturday where 2 fuel leaks were discovered. My car stalls and is leaking fuel and coolant light has started to come on (red).

The issues that I am having started and was noticed about 2 years ago. I noticed the turn signal sounded distorted or like a short was developing in the system. Then I noticed the key in the ignition and the seat belt warnings were no longer audible. These indications were listed in campaign 08v607000.

Unexplained fire: vehicle was being driven to work. Upon pulling in to the parking lot, driver notices burning smell. Driver parks, bystander approaches driver to alert that the vehicle is on fire. Driver exits vehicle and notices a fire under the passenger side of the vehicle, approximately 1. 5ft in diameter. Liquid is spilling onto the ground and catching on fire. Driver proceeds to work security desk to call fire department. Car is now enveloped in flames (~15ft). Fire spreads to vehicle in front of the Jaguar. Fire causes damage to a total of 4 vehicles and the asphalt. Fire department extinguishes the fire and vehicle is towed. The Jaguar was deemed a total loss. The Jaguar had been driven approximately 200 miles since takata airbag replacement.

Takata recall the transmission slips out of gear all the time. Now my shiftier is stuck in gear. The car will be still and it gets stuck. I've had this car for almost five years and towards the end it has given me hell. Transmission always failing while driving no matter on highway or street. There's also a lag when driving above 50mph.

Nhtsa campaign id number 08v607000, also occurs in my vehicle the 2009 Jaguar Xf supercharged but the VIN is not included in the safety recall. Jaguar will not repair the problem even though it is a know issue in that make model and year. The 2009 the speaker fails, the following audible notifications are impacted: turn indicator, seat belt warning, lights 'on' warning, driver's door open with key in ignition, driver intervene (adaptive cruise control vehicles only) and seat memory. The audible seat belt warning is to remind drivers to wear their safety belt. My 2009 Jaguar has been in the shop for almost 1 year, I was told that it was the wire harness, however the wire harness was replaced under my extended warranty and the problem still exist. I purchased the 2009 Jaguar at car max in 2012, after about 3 months it was in for oil change and antifreeze was smelt, they put me in a rental and my car was returned after about 1 week. This was a third vehicle for my household so it was basically garage kept, after about 1 year( with following normal oil changes, my abs/ebs and other lights started coming on, it was taken to car max where the put me in a loaner car and kept my car for about 2-3 months, stating wire harness. . . Fast forward, the same lights came on again and again it went to the same mechanical shop on June 19,2018 and its still in the shop now! please hlep.

The contact owned a 2011 Jaguar Xf. While the vehicle was operated, the contact was alerted by another motorist that smoke was coming from the vehicle. The contact pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and various warning indicators illuminated. After the contact exited the vehicle, it became engulfed in flames. A police report was filed. The fire department was contacted and extinguished the flames. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and deemed destroyed. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. There were no injuries. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

The electrical issue in this car is completely unbearable, it consistently drains the battery until it is dead and cannot take a jump start. I was told by a gentleman that there was a recall in regards to this matter. The fuel system is also a major complication. The fuel comes through the vents of the vehicle and it is so potent that I have gotten sick on a few occasions while operating the vehicle. The vehicle can be stationary and in motion while these mishaps are occurring. It is really sad and disappointing to sell cars this expensive and experience so many complications. My vehicle is in the repair shop at this very moment.

Inside car interior lights comes on and off while driving on it's own. Even at night while driving the interior light will come and off by themselves for apparent reason. I've google an seen a lot of complaints on Jaguar website about the same issue been reported since 2011 with no recall to fix the issue an as of today I'm still experiencing this issue. Engine makes a ticking noise while idling and worse after acceleration. As if something is lose put in shop a few time they checked the timing chain, lifters, and used an stethoscope to find the problem still can't. Just told me to drive until the engine goes out.

This happened for the first time on 09/04/2016. I was going in highway at 70mph the car suddenly stopped for 0. 5 second and turned on by itself. All the electrical system restarted at that time. I did not take it seriously at that time and it started to come again and this time it is in the local road where I was going at 30 mph. This time the car stopped and the steering is struck. I changed the car to park mode and started the car again. The same thing happened several times after that and the car started automatically. I have a new battery on the car and the key fob has new battery and the car started straightway. I don't see any other problems other than this. I took the take to a mechanic and they could not diagnose the issue and asked to take it to the Jaguar dealer. I have an appointment with the dealer tomorrow. Yesterday it happened again the highway and this time the car stopped. I managed to pull the car to the side lane and started the car again. This is very dangerous condition. Hence I'm reporting this.

My new car 26,000 miles Jaguar went dead in the middle of the street towed to the dealer. Happened again last week in my way to las vegas from los angeles. I am sure this will happen again. There is a defect with this car.

My gearshift selector keeps going out I was in the drve through, put my vehicle in park because I was idling too long, tried shifting back into drive vehcle would not shift, 2 hours later after several angry customers my vehicle shifted into drive, get home to put into park vehicle would not shift to park, so now im stuck in drive, couldnt do anything but sit and wait nothing, so I had to shut vehicle off and doing so vehicle rolled with no brakes hitting vehicle in front of me, luckily it was my vehicle, vehicle has not reverted back to operation still stuck in drive.

I have enjoyed this vehicle overall except for three issues limited to quality. The nav unit failed shutting down the entire fiber optic network and the dash pad delaminated. The front lca busing are also problematic.

I was sitting at the traffic light when the car just switched off, no warning signs it just shut down as if it was turned off. A message appeared on the dash to press the brakes and button to restart. I pressed the start button and it started up fine, this had happen 3 times in the last 30 days, the 2nd time I was driving 40mph and the latest 12 Jan 2014 at a stop light. I haven't taken it to a dealership as of yet. I am not really sure what too do. I'm concerned that I might not be in such a convenient place the next time this happens. What would it take to initiate a recall for this.

I was driving on the freeway at 70 miles an hour when the car just switched off, no warning signs it just shut down as if it was turned off. I was able to steer the car onto the hard shoulder and stop safely. I pressed the start button and it started up fine, this had happened to me before at a stop light months before. I took it to the dealership where they have had it for over a week. It shows an interruption on the computer but they can't duplicate the problem and they are giving it back to me tomorrow as is. My wife now is afraid to drive the car and I'm also concerned that I might not be in such a convenient place to pull over next time if it happens again.

I have experienced multiple malfunctions of the tpms system. All four tires are inflated to mfr specifications yet the instrument panel intermittently reports a fault.

I was driving in a parking lot and came to a stop but the car then accelerated and I had brake hard to hold the car back. I put the car into park. When I attempted to put the car into gear again, I could not move the shifter. I turned the car off and restarted it, and the car ran fine the rest of the evening. The next day, I was again in a parking lot and as I try to park, the engine accelerates wildly. I was able to hold the car with the brakes and put it into park. Once in park, the engine continued to rev. The shifter was now stuck. I tapped the shifter and that allowed me to shift the car and the engine went to normal operation. As of 12/11, the problem has not happened again. I will be taking the car to my dealer for diagnosis.

While driving, car completely shut down. I pulled over to the side of the road. Car restarted after a few minutes. Taken to repair and they said nothing was wrong with it. Three other times, when using bluetooth phone connection, the electrical system shut down and went black. It restarted after a few minutes as well. Jaguar says nothing is wrong. . . Very scary. . .

I purchased the 2009 Jaguar Xf supercharge and I had multiple stalls in this vehicle , where it would stop working and the reading board would read default system and would not start from anywhere to 2-20 minutes. I took the vehicle in of course several times and they only indicated it one time on one invoice, even though I had the recurring issue with this car. I finally took a video and gave it to the Jaguar shop in walnut creek (european Jaguar), and they sent the video to the manufacture. I was contacted by letter by the manufacturer saying sorry for your trouble. I also spoke to [xxx] my advisor who explained that the manufacture new the problem. Nothing seemed to fix this issue and finally on may 3, 2011, I was traveling on 580 westbound and the car exploded into flames. I escaped but with injuries to the right wrist and right knee, and left ankle, needing surgery and ptsd. I was told that my vehicle had the same type of 2010 models that were recalled, as to the gas flange /gas tank system, that could be related. I, however want to make a complaint because for the safety of others and if my children who were in the vehicle earlier that morning at 7:50 am , they would have ended in two deaths, likely three trying to rescue them. The explosion occurred at approximately 10;30 a. M. On may 3, 2011. I would like to thank you for your time and cooperation in taking the complaint. This occurred numerous times on two new 2010 Jaguar Xfs. As my bluetooth connected phone began to ring, the car's touchscreen interface went blank and the hvac vents rotated to the closed position. I am not sure if the entire electrical system went down as the touchscreen immediately rebooted and the vents rotated back open. I did not notice any problems with braking, acceleration, or handling. Jaguar does not consider this their problem. They are telling me that my phone is the problem, but I find it interesting that it is an approved phone. I am getting nowhere and find it interesting that when receiving a phone call that the phone is capable of turning all of the above systems off. Can somebody let me know if they are experiencing the same issues and what you are doing?.
