The contact owned a 2011 Jaguar Xj. While driving on a wet road at 55 mph, the contact lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle fishtailed down the road into the guardrail cable. The front end of the vehicle was destroyed. The air bags did not deploy. The contact sustained head and rib injuries, which required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The issue recurred on numerous occasions. In addition, the emergency brake malfunctioned. The dealer diagnosed that the battery was low. After having the vehicle diagnosed at auto zone, the battery was tested as being normal. The contact continued to lose control of the vehicle's traction. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 31,552.
