Gasoline Fuel System Problems of Jaguar XK

The contact owns a 2010 Jaguar Xk. The contact stated while driving 60 mph, she smelled an abnormally strong gasoline odor. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle. The contact also stated there was gasoline was leaking underneath the passenger’s side door. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and had the vehicle towed to the dealer for the diagnostic test and repair; however, the manufacturer called back and informed the contact that they would no longer cover the repair of the vehicle because the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

First episode I was slowing down to turn left and car turned off. I was able to restart car. Jaguar said they would update software. Second episode again I was turning left at low speed when car turned off. I tried restarting car twice and it would not start. I called Jaguar and while on phone the car was able to start. While driving at 55 mph the auto stopped accelerating when pressure was placed on the gas pedal. The car had to be shut off and eventually started again. I brought it to my mechanic and he told me the throttle body is bad. He looked up the records of this problem and found that there was a recall for the same problem for the 3 previous yrs 97,98 & 99, recall s514. Jaguar knew they had a problem for the 3 previous years and did not do enough as is evident by a near fatal accident. I have driven autos for over 35 yrs and this has never happened. I want my car fixed by Jaguar and a recall on this defect. Either way I want this on record of how Jaguar takes care of what could be a fatal situation.
