One problem related to front seat recliner has been reported for the 1997 Jaguar XK8. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The 1/4" thick steel brackets that are welded to the driver's seat frame and have holes for the seat frame to be bolted to the floor of the car sheared off (I. E. Completely failed) while driving. The seat became unattached at the front causing the seat to rock backward leaving the headrest on the back seat.
