One problem related to ignition module has been reported for the 1997 Jaguar XK8. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Throttle position sensor contacts fail due to design flaw causing ecu to go into limp mode. Ecu unable to determine pedal position, causing incorrect fuel metering and incorrect shift pattern.
