I removed foot from accelerator and applied brake. Car surged forward. I shifted foot farther to left and continued brake application and car stopped. I discovered that brake and accelerator pedals too close together so that, when foot applied to brake, right side of foot can inadvertently press down on accelerator.
:the contact stated while driving 20 mph, the engine stopped running due to a tensioner failure on the timing chain. The conditions were dry and sunny. There was no accident nor police report filed.
