general problems of the 1998 Jeep Cherokee

Four problems related to seat belt have been reported for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2004

When driving at any speed, the consumer noticed that driver's seat vibrated from under the seat. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection and the mechanic determined that the seat broke off the assembly. The anchor pulled loose. The dealer refused to remedy the problem.

2 Seat Belt problem

Failure Date: 11/22/2002

Consumer stated that they have the same problem as recall #98v048000 seat belt. Dealer will not repair free of charge because VIN# was not included. Ts.

3 Seat Belt problem

The driver side seat belt did not fasten properly. When ever the driver moved the belt popped loose. Please describe further.

4 Seat Belt problem

Vehicle not included in recall 98v048000. Front seat belt shoulder turning loop anchors were not properly heat treated. Please give any further details.
