Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 1999 Jeep Cherokee

Five problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 07/14/2003

Consumer states that while driving t air bag warning light would come on. Dealer notified.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2001

Air bag sensor relocated after recall to top of transmission housing. Airbag did not deploy after a 40 mph frontal crash. Recall also changed position of wire harness causing short circuit. That resulted in failure of 4 pcm 's and stalling of the vehicle while driving.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2000

Consumer was not able to obtain recall repair in the appropriate time frame, due to dealership problem. (00v-105).

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2000

The defroster failed, as a result, visibility was impaired. The consumer stated the defrosted failed seven times since the vehicle was purchased. The air bag control module was replaced, the right front window did not work.

5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Dealership denied the consumer recall repair, the dealership will not perform recall because the consumer did not purchase vehicle from them. (00v-105).
