One problem related to front suspension coil spring has been reported for the 1999 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I have a 99 Jeep Cherokee sport. The front end becomes uncontrollable at highway speeds when driven on anything less than perfectly smooth flat roadway surface. Applying the brakes makes the front end shimmy horrible and dangerous. You must slow to regain controll, also dangerous on highways. Online research shows this is a common flaw with Jeeps that have a coil-sprung front suspension with a track bar or panhard bar, referred to death wobble. This is very dangerous!.
