1 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2008

The contact owns a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 55 mph, there was a loss of transmission power. The vehicle hesitated excessively, but the engine continued to operate. The warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was not taken to an authorized dealer at that time. On a separate occasion, the check engine and transmission warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The indicators remained lit until the engine was turned off. Immediately following, the engine shut off; however, the vehicle restarted within twenty minutes. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic twice for identical failures. The crank sensor and fuel filter were replaced; however, there were no resolutions. Currently, the vehicle is being repaired for the malfunctions. 2 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2001

Vehicle was parked when engine compartment caught on fire, appears to be caused by a fuel leak, claim 52-2453-799.

3 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2001

Insured parked vehicle and went into school, about 15 minutes later he was informed his vehicle was on fire, the fire started from a fuel leak in the engine compartment. Claim number 52-2453-799.

4 Gasoline Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2000

(1. ) at 245 miles enginecheck light went on. Dealer replaced #5 spark plug and coil ignition system to correct. Four days later the same light went on. Also at 400 miles, 6/3/2000 estrong smell of gasoline in passenger compartment during cold starts.
