Tl- the contact owns a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at 25 mph, when the vehicle's temperature gauge indicated that the vehicle was over heating. The contact stated that the vehicle was maneuvered to a safe location until the temperature gauge read normal and the vehicle was restarted and driven the contacts home. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the shield intake manifold and shield exhaust manifold had become inoperable and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 181,889. Wh.

2 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2007

Tl- caller owns a 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Current mileage is 71000. Failure mileage is 68000. While driving 40mph caller noticed temeperature gauge and pulled over and tried to correct the problem by adding coolant to radiator. Vehicle cooled off and he put a new head on the engine a week later. The vehicle is still running hot. Ktf the consumer stated the exhaust header is too close to the engine block oil pan causing overheating. Updated 06/08/07.

3 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2004

Brakes malfunctioned both right and left rotors were scored and ruined on the inside only. The brakes failed at 33,809 miles. Looking through the wheel from the outside, the outside of the rotors looked good with no unusual wear. The vehicle also had air conditioning problems and needed to have the muffler replaced.

The vehicle caught on fire because of neglect to repair a recall regarding a debris shield installation on the engine intake manifold. Ph.

5 Manifold/header/muffler/tail Pipe problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2002
