Fire started in left rear quarter of vehicle. It was caused by wiring to rear defogger, lights & rear wiper harness. Damage to wiring, trim panels melted, head liner damage, outer body paint blistered above fuel filler door. It was just luck that it was snowing so I used the snow to put out the fire. Estimated damage to vehicle by insurance CO. Was $2961. 00.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2001

Vehicle experienced fire that appeared to have started by sparks in the wiring under the hood, the fire spread to the passenger compartment, claim 38-j818-276.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2001

Engine compartment caught fire due to wiring harness failure. Claim number 29-6065-511.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2001

Insured smelled burning wires as she got out of vehicle. Claim number 48-5168-721.

5 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2001

Vehicle caught fire as soon as conumer had returned home, dealer had changed the wires and wiring because they had burned previously, consumer had been smelling something burning prior to fire in engine compartment, claim 11-3602-682.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 02/03/2001

While driving, the vehicle caught on fire because of wires, insured stated that the dealer had changed the wires because they had burned previously. Claim number 11-3602-682.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 12/06/2000

Wires were melted, insured stated that this was an internal fire and feels incident could be a possible defect. Claim number 30-v293-535.
