Two problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2002 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer noticed that while brake pedal was depressed rear wheels spun and vehicle surged forward, rpms idled high.
With engine on driver pressed brake pedal and moved the shifter from park to drive when vehicle began to race. With both feet on the brakes vehicle would not stop, it continued to race, hitting a parked car. Had to turn engine off to stop the vehicle.
