Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problems of the 2011 Jeep Cherokee

Three problems related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) have been reported for the 2011 Jeep Cherokee. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2014

Vehicle would not start due to failed totally integrated power module. The tipm would not send power to the fuel pump and engine would not start. Chrysler knows about this problem but fails to take responsibility for the defect.

2 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2013

The tipm (totally integrated power module) is on back order and now Chrysler is saying its backordered to January 14, 2014.

3 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem

Failure Date: 08/16/2012

Diagnosed as tipm problem (totally integrated power module) car initially had problems with headlamps and wipers malfunctioning, then ignition wouldn't turn over and then when it finally did the car could not be turned off! brought car straight to Jeep dealer after it wouldn't turn off and was told it was tipm. They said part was backordered over a month and car can not be driven in the meantime. This is a huge consumer problem across the country with multiple model Jeeps and several model years. The part is impossible to get and I was even told a boat sank and that it why it is backordered nationally for months. Looking at other consumer complaints online this should be a recall. Cars are not able to be driven and people are waiting months for the part.
