The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. While driving 50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed, but failed to respond. The service transmission warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and the valve body and parking brake needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred two additional times. On another occasion, the headlights became inoperable and the "head lamp out" warning message illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the body control module and head lamps needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. While driving 15 mph, the automatic power locks failed to operate without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for repair; however, the specifics of the repair were unknown. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,000.

Tailgate Latch problem #2

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that upon opening the tailgate, the tailgate failed to stay open and landed on the contact without warning. The contact did not report any injuries. The contact took the vehicle to an unknown dealer where the parts were ordered for the repair. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 155,000. The VIN was not available.

Hood Latch problem #3

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated while her daughter was driving approximately 45 mph both hood latches broke and the hood smashed her windshield. There was a tire pressure warning light illuminated. The police arrived on the scene and duck-taped the hood down. There was no police report file that the contact was aware of. The contact and her husband then arrived on the scene and drove the vehicle to their residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure.
