Car stalled out going 25 miles an hour while driving on a side street. Temperature 102 at 3:02pm. Vehicle had only been running less than 30 minutes. All dash lights came on, scrolled thru each service notice {check engine, turn signals, etc. . } after 3rd attempt to restart vehicle, it started. Took 27 minutes. Once started, check engine light was on.
Jeep dealers have been unresponsive in resolving/fixing recall w47 leading to the lack of functionality of my Jeep Cherokee 2015, requiring tow from chester, MD to alexandria, va given the vehicle could no longer be driven. Dealer now suddenly has "recall fix" (not available after 9 previous calls/messages between 7/21/2020 - 8/22/2020 when dealer reps never returned a message/call). They claim as of today (after Jeep was dropped at dealer by tow truck), the recall fix has been done - but say the transmission light is still on and needs to be repaired/paid for by the customer. I believe this could be further result of not fixing a dangerous recall situation which could have damaged the car beyond the recall related to front wheels, transmission, loss of power, loss of park function. My vehicle stopped running, all transmission service/abs and parking brake service lights went on simultaneously and the Jeep rolled backward until I turned it off. Thankfully I had gotten off of busy highway and experienced this at an exit and then parking lot where I waived other drivers around me, parked the vehicle and then it was placed on a flat bed tow truck. Dealers are not taking this recall seriously. More details attached. The issue has not yet been resolved by ourisman alexandria where my vehicle was towed and is still located.
My car stalls and shuts off while driving it also gives me a message to shift into park while in motion.
Approx. 4:45pm when the temperature was 117, I was parked, with the engine off, waiting to pick up my dog at the vet. I had just driven 15 miles to this location = 25 minutes. Waited over 20 minutes for dog to be brought to car. When ready to leave, car would not start, all service/dash lights come on. (had air, radio, lights} waited over 40 minutes and finally car started. Drove directly home, again the 15 miles in about 20 minutes, backed into driveway, put car in park (did not turn engine off), took dog inside. When putting car in reverse to put car in garage, car stalled out. This was twice in one day!! this has been happening for the last 2 years on very hot days. Why no research/recall on this stalling out issue??.
Auto shut down while in left turn lane, waiting for light to turn green. Auto seems to stall out after idling (after leaving drive thru, traffic light). Will not restart, all dash indicators come on. Air, radio, windows still functioning. Had help pushing car out of traffic. 55 minutes later in 117 degrees auto started. Next morning auto would not start, all dash indicators come on again. Had use the key fob trick to start. This has happened in 2019 as well first time, may 1, 2019, towed to dealership, left there for 2 days, nothing found.
An error that continues to come and go is to service shifter. it is apparent there are moments that the shifter sputters, the car will not shift gears (automatic) and refuse to accelerate. The check engine light also comes on for this. Deal ships do not seem to act aware of this issue, but it seems extremely prevalent online. It appears to be based on a faulty shift in the vehicle or bad wiring. However, the deal ships act like nothing is wrong but will change it for you for around $7,000. The car sputtering and refusing to shift while trying to accelerate is extremely dangerous from faulty components and needs to be investigated. It's clear a recall is needed for this.
I purchased may Jeep Cherokee in December 2017. On the first hot day of may 2020, I went into my car, and noticed the dashboard area along with the vents, had began to melt! it was hot outside, but this is not the first time that my car has been sitting in the sun. When I touched the vent, my fingers were covered in this black, gooey substance. Not only is the interior of my car destroyed, but my concern is whether this substance is hazardous. Are there chemicals in the paint or any toxic elements? I have showed the photos of the problem to many people. And everyone has the same answer, which is, "I have never seen anything like this before. " I contacted the dealership, where I purchased my Jeep. My agent is currently looking into this. The second problem involves the shifter. All of the lights are lit up. I have already had an incident where I thought I was in "park" but it turned out I was in reverse. I found multiple complaints and concerns about this problem in my research.
I have warnkng lights keep flashing out of control 3 lights keep staying on that is tire pressure system and check engine and start stop system , put a code reader on vehicle and it says transmission module my car will rev up while iij n gear hesitate and then jerk real fast and start going super fast without my foot on gas. When I shift the gers knto reverse from park or put in park it makes a loud clunk nouse and shifts hard. Also the tailgate when openkng will open up and imediately shut on me and has hit my head a few times and tried shuting with me in the way. Ive reported problems to the dealership several tume they send me to a dealership for Jeep and they tell me battery needs reset and sent me kn my way and I asked to have transmossion looked at and they have no transmission tech. While in motion ill take my foot off gas to slow down when comi'll ng to a corner or stop and it will speed up on its own causimg me to slam breaks quickly. I feel unsafe in this vehicle. Im not the first owner I was fknanced through bud clary and they can never help me always send me to ncchords Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership if there is any availability appointments. The issues I have with vehicle are continuous . Really stared bad with lights a few weeks ago. Had car serviced for reg service date on 11th and they couldnt help with my issues recommends me make appointment with other dealership. Ill put the issues with car when its been a everyday occurance to thus last may on 1st. I bought car almost 1 yr ago and have ghad problems since day 1 June 27th 2019.
Had brakes and rotors replaced less than 6 months ago and now I'm being told that I need new front brakes and rotors again. There is chugging with my transmission, and a lot of vibration. I am unable to upload anything without having a mechanic take everything apart to expose it, and I can't afford that at this time.
I was approaching a 4 way stop with my children in the vehicle, going approx. 10mph. I pressed on the brakes but was unable to stop, making me go through the intersection with vehicles turning into my lane. The brake pedal was rock solid and locked up, and was unable to be pressed. During that time the service elctronic braking light populated on my dashboard.
I was leaving my neighborhood yesterday morning when my Jeep shut off without any warning or check engine lights and would not start. Thankfully I was still close to home and was able to go home in neutral! what if I were on the highway? or in the middle of an intersection! the screen said to put vehicle in park. The radio and lights still work but it does not start. I am financing this Jeep and have had it for 8 months from a dealership. I dont have an extended waranty and I dont know how to handle this. . . I looked up on carcomplaints. Com and found identical complaints to mine of theyre new Jeeps just shutting off mid drive. This needs to ba addressed. Im terrified of this car.
I was leaving my condominium, soon after stepping the pedal, brake that message appeared on the on-board computer, then vehicle stopped walking. I was trying to call again, to park the same inside my parking space inside the condominium, started to make a very lucky noise and not calling, had to maneuver the vehicle without starting and still call a winch, to take to my reliable mechanic, that until today we can not find out what the problem is this vehicle, whenever we press the brake pedal, the message appears and does not start the vehicle.
I have had my car in the shop twice for gear shift issue as well as a blower motor 3 times. If I replace this blower motor it will be the 3rd in 2 years. The gear shifting issue was supposedly just an electrical issue according to the dealership and the upon returning with the same issue I was told an entire gear shift replacement was necessary on my 2015 Jeep Cherokee. A supposed recall existed but per Jeep customer service is was only for cars build in 2014 in the month of October. However in a follow up call today 12/13/2019 Jeep was unable to find any recall related to the gear shift or any electrical components that would affect the gear shift or transmission. I would like to request a tracking of calls, emails, reporting of all related issues to Jeeps built in 2014 labeled as 2015 that potentially have these issues and a response to how many vehicles need to be included to warrant a recall. The vehicle issues happen both in park, drive, neutral and in reverse.
I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee, over the last few years I have had multiple incidents with it stopping while driving down the road. I've had it towed to the dealership and was told that it was a flashing update. Another time I was told that it needed an oil change and will often turn the engine off because of this. Yet I never go past my mileage for my services. I always have that taken care of when due. Now my engine light came in while on the highway. No message of why it's on, but I did notice it was having difficulty shifting. Now some other light is flashing and the traction control is on.
My 2015 Jeep Cherokee will go into neutral whilst driving and then traction control light comes on, check engine light, service shifter, then will not drive says to shift to park then put into gear. I do the following and still won't try. Have tried shutting it off turning it back on and nothing works.
We bought a 2015 Jeep Cherokee in 2016 and without being told of the issues with the transmissions issues. We have had our Jeep in the shop four times with transmissions issues of shifting hard and now going into neutral when in drive and the brakes going hard and the Jeep coming to a stop. The anit slide has now came on and the Jeep shakes . The updates came one day when I was getting onto the highway going 65 mph and the Jeep went to 30 mph with my grandkids in the car and two disels one behind me blowing the horn because he almost hit me and one to the side of me. My husband was coming home from a dr visit again the Jeep went into a neutral state while in the drive position and the Jeep stopped and he was almost hit then the Jeep jerked and went into gear so he went into a shopping center and had to stop and kill the Jeep and restart the Jeep to make the Jeep restart just to get it home. It went back to the shop that night! we have had the Jeep in the shop for hard shifting when taking off and now it is hard shifting when taking off and down shifting, anti slide randomly comes on, brakes are not properly stopping the car. Go to the dealer where we bought it and they only offered $7500 for it when we owe $15, 000 and this is so ridiculous. Called Jeep and awaiting a call, they stated they have to call the dealer. In the mean time I had to buy another car because ours is to unsafe to drive! the Jeep is sticking in gear and the tac meter is staying on 3 or 4. Then when you turn the Jeep off and turn it back on it may or may not work. We have backed it out of our driveway and put into drive and it shifts so hard into first and second gear. Now since the last time we picked it up from the shop the Jeep has now started loosing power when you attempt to drive. We have parked the Jeep and decided it isn't safe!.
Was driving down the interstate at 70mph the engine abruptly shut off. The dashboard read "shift to p then desired gear". This has also happened when coming to a stop. Attempting to restart the engine causes the starter to run for about 45 seconds and then the engine will slowly sputter to life. This vehicle is unsafe and there are a massive amount of complaints about this spanning back over 4 years.
Driving on highway and "service shifter" message appears on display + prnd lights all came on at the gearshift. Message will not go away and remains on entire time I was driving. Had similar issue 2x couple years ago???.
I was driving on interstate and stepped on brakes because cars were slowing down when I began to brake the engine shut off. Message said shift to park and start engine. Cars were honking. I did what it read and it took seconds but turned back on. It took some explaining to the dealership after my personal research in waiting room for 4 hours. They found the codes?? it happened again but more seriously on a toad with traffic moving I stepped on brakes to make a left turn but it turned off! cars slammed on their brakes. I did what message said it took longer this time. I pulled into a parking lot and it turned off again when I stepped on brakes to park. I can't get a dealership to help me?? tomorrow I'm going back to the original service department that found the codes in January. This is scary.
Was parked at the store got in and started it. It hiccuped on starting. Shifted to reverse and a huge clunk happened. I revered and shifted to drive again a huge clunk. Once driving it had no power and service transmission and parking brake came on.
On 5/23/19 and 5/27/19 vehicle loses power while driving, engine shuts down, steering locks and the dash lights up with a message that says put vehicle and "park" and then select desired gear. I have small children. This has happened twice in the last month. I keep my vehicle up to date on maintenance/service. I read over 100 people's exact same complaints on line. It doesn't make sense that I am paying a car payment, have less than 45,000 miles on my vehicle, and having these kind of safety concerns. Today, my car died with no warning on a busy road, gives me approximately 10 seconds to pull to safety before there is no speed/ability to manuever the vehicle. It is ridiculous that the risk is so high, and the number of complaints listed on line show a serious issue with this among hundreds of vehicles by Jeep and nothing. The dealerships/service continue to make comments like "we were unable to replicate the issue". To be specific: driving at about 25 miles per hour, straight following a right or left turn. . . . Lost power. Lights went on the dash, message above appeared. It took two tries to restart to get me out of the middle of the road. I had my crank shaft sensor replaced on 5/8/19 due to car stalling. Now my vehicle completely shuts off in the middle of traffic this is a safety issue. Please fix it before someone gets seriously injured.
The 2015 Jeep Cherokee latitude 44. . Shut down in moving traffic . Dash stated to put car in park to shift gear. Vehicle was already in gear. Vehicle started back up and I made it to a gas station where it shut down at the pump. Vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. This is the third time since I purchased the vehicle it had to be towed for shutting down in motion. I bought the car brand new in may of 2015. Has 51k miles on it now. Also it shifts iraticly. The cruise control accelerates on it's own. Something must be did one or people will get hurt .
Turn the my vehicle on and all lights on my gear shifter came on and stayed on. A message on my dash was service shifter.
I was driving and slowing down when my car completely shut off in traffic on a busy 1 lane road. I put car in park and tried restarting. Car would not start, no power what so ever, no hazard lights, steering wheel did not lock, key would not pull out of ignition, and my car would not disengage from park. Literally parked in the road. We were able to pop the gear shifter and put car into neutral and push my car to a parking lot. I put the car back in park and started it and the car lurched forward violently. Dealer said the issue was because I had a new battery installed in my car recently.
First this happened 3/6/2019 the vehicle shut off dead on a main rd could not start it for about 5 minutes or so. Got it going . Then yesterday 3/9/19 the same thing with my daughter driving dead stop engine not running as driving again took awhile to start it up, got it back home heard a sound as you put the car in gear clicking noise then I put it back in park the vehicle rolled back once in park never happens before. I looked up recalls people have had the same exact issue identical to mine, problem a wire was crimped and software needed updating. Done know if this was ever fixed bought this used a year and a half ago. The car is not that old only has 47k miles on it. I see no recalls now but there was one van it be brought in on that recall I am speaking of?? car both times were on a city street coming to a stop when the car shut off abruptly both time we had traffic coming from behind us.
Service shifter shows on display, all the lights on shifter light up. I looked on internet and many reporting the same issue on many years. Once vehicle is turned off and turned back on the warning goes out, but comes back on in a week or a month. I have made an appointment with dealership to get it serviced. Appears this is a common problem with the make and model.
Vehicle turned off on its own upon reaching 40mph and coming to a complete stop. Vehicle later turned off while on the highway at 65 mph in traffic while in the middle lane. This made the vehicle accelerator inoperable and at the same time made the vehicle lose speed slowing down while in traffic. Vehicle was nearly missed by passing vehicles and almost hit. Emergency lights came on as soon as the vehicle turned off. Vehicle was shifted to neutral to allow for steering wheel to not be so stiff. Finally I was able to pull over while the vehicle still had some type of momentum. I tried restarting the vehicle but the dashboard stated "please wait for vehicle to warm up to start. ' I had to wait about 20 minutes until the vehicle was able to restart then acting normal. Check engine light came on. Upon revising the fault code p2172 appeared.
At multiple, seemingly random times, warning lights flash regarding transmission and other car functions, engine stops and temporarily won't restart. On restart transmission jumps hard. Software has been updated and dealer reports no recall on this vehicle. So far has just happened while stationary.
Leaking in liftgate caused all electrical instruments to fail electronic emergency brake power sun roof stop/start module head lights fog lights speedometer.
The car started shaking when towing. We had to stop immediately. It shook so bad it shook the motor home. We were on a highway and turning to the right.
Driving up grade coming to a stop, then starting again, the transmission spins then bangs into gear, a violent movement. And now my car is just stalling. Usually when starting out down a grade after taking my foot off accelerator, car stalles.
Went to start car wouldn't start or turn over. Received jump from roadside assistance and waited 20 min before attempting to drive to the nearest auto zone (2 miles). Once I started driving the dashboard lights started flickering and as soon as I came to a red light at a very busy 3 lane intersection I was in the middle lane and my car shut off & wouldn't turn back on. At this point, my only option was to sit without any power, therefore no hazard lights, and wait for someone to hit me as I was unable to leave my vehicle due to high risk of being hit by a car. During the terrifying time of waiting eventually I did get hit. Which caused a three car accident & pile-up on this very busy road. I was the front vehicle and my Jeep is probably totaled and I will be going to doctor tomorrow, the middle vehicle received the most damage & the passengers were hurt & went to hospital, the 3rd vehicle (truck) was very damaged but the driver was not injured. I then called 911 & we filled out a police report & my car was towed & the police drove me home like a criminal. This accident was caused by my Jeep's electrical malfunction. I do not currently see a recall for anything by VIN or by make/model. Please address this immediately as I do not want others to be effected as I was at the fault of Jeep.
Since vehicle was first purchased in Dec 2014, the autostart feature occasionally completely stalls vehicle when stopped at sign, at a traffic light or stopped in heavy transit and will not turn back on to continue trip. I have to turn off key remove key and exit vehicle to reset. I have almost been run over, impacted by other oncoming vehicles on the highway or by vehicles trying to get around me at a light or stop sign. I have reported it several times to dealer whitten bros in richmond va and ashland va but have been ignored and they have refused to document occurrences. And dismissed my allegations. I have had over 12 incidents in the last 3 years in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018, in the city, suburbs and highways. My most recent occurrence date is poste below.
When I drive my car cluster showed me "service shifter" and all lights are turn on in transmition prnd. I went service center they didn't know why that signal comes on. I'm very concern abiut that because that cause sudden unintended acceleration or stop engine during driving. It happened few more times before.
The vehicle's low oil light indicator only flashes across the screen and does not remain on. This only takes place when the car is completely out of oil and the car loses power and shuts off while in motion. The vehicle has no leaks but requires oil every 700 miles or so. The engine runs off synthetic oil which should have to be replaced less frequently, but this vehicle needs oil replacement every 2-3 months.
My car had 40,343 miles and was in great condition. On November 19, 2017 my car wouldn't start and had the brake light on (which the brake wasn't on), check engine light on, off road light on, and battery low light on. I charged my battery and took it for a test drive. The check engine light came off and break light but the others were still on. The car was driving fine. The next day I went to start my car and it started but was acting awful. It was giving me resistance to change gear, it felt like the brake was on even though it wasnt, and it was scary to drive it. I took it into the shop. They said the computer wasn't reading anything correctly and they hope that putting a new battery will help everything go back to normal. They changed it and it didn't work. They said the ecu and tcm configuration was mismatched and needed to be replaced. I don't think a car that only has 40k miles should have issues with its computer like I did. I spent $1720. 61 to fix it and I'm not happy with this situation.
***service shifter*** service shifter light continues to come on. I've taken the car in for updates 3x in the past month. During the time the light is on, I feel the car accelerating on its own when driving and reeving when stopped. The continuing updates are costly now that the vehicle is out of factory warranty.
I just got my vehicle in April 13, 17 my vehicle shut completely off while at the street light and it does this when ever it feels like it and when ever I turn my vehicle on sometimes my inside dashboard or radio lights won't come on and it's still trying to be fixed this is ridiculous.
While driving on street car just died and slowly came to stop. Very dangerous. Tried restarting would not start. Unknown what is wrong with car that stops when driving and will not start again right away. After car sitting awhile and a few attempts to start it, it starts again only to stop while driving again.
While driving at full speed on I-10 west, my Jeep Cherokee came to a full stop forcing drivers to steer around me so as not to rear end me. It's done this 5 times since suaturday the 18th of February. It says the vehicle must be in park before releasing the brake.
2015 Jeep trail hawk approximately 1st 10,000 miles electronics multiple alarms no 4 wheel drive, parking break error, check transmission light on while driving. Loss of some steering, heavy. . . Car is shifting chaotically. Check engine no visible issues. Took to dealer ship the next day they re-flashed software kept it for the night no other issues until 12/11/2016 when a duplicate of the first event occurred. Took to dealership same thing as reported before, plus oil leak (no oil in my garage upper oil leak) and the dealership completed a transmission re-call repair to fix transmission errors on the 9 speed. All repairs under warranty to date only cost to me is rental cars and lost time at work. 12/19 duplicate again of two events only difference is the car was having a hard time starting on two occasions today but drove fine. On one occasion the motor starter would not stop engaging the engine and it would not start. My foot was not on the brake, and I was not pressing the start button, it was just stuck in start. I pumped the breaks and hit the engine button and it stopped maybe 20 seconds later. The car always returns to normal after it sits for a few hours all the alarms go away and the check engine light is on but it tests drives fine. Last recall noted the same issue and my recall repair on 12/12 was to fix the issue, at this point feel I am pretty lucky to be on side street a few miles from home when errors occur not sure what would happen on the highway. Just checked the engine and fluids all ok will take to dealership tomorrow. Took pictures of the top of the engine and below the car no leaks no fluid issues seems to be a software or programming issue. The dealership has been great don't think they have much control over the problem.
We have received two recalls for the transaxle wire harness but when we call the pars are not available yet. The recall says the car may loss powder my drives highway every day and this is a constant concert when will we be able to have this fixed ? also very concerned that this is a second recall.
Transmission problems and electrical problems had the car at dealership at least 3 to 4 time for over a week at the time called Jeep headquaters at least 20 time and they are very bad with costumer service. I am worried about the safety for my family driving the car, since tranmission issues should not be handled like that. No support from Jeep capital.
There was a recall a few years back for electrical issues, I took it in to get fixed and it worked for a few months then after that it works on and off. I noticed when it gets hotter than 80 degrees the a/c will not always turn on. I am not sure if my car was fixed correctly the first time.
SUV shuts off in the middle of road while driving normal speed, city or highway happens both; all lights on dash are flashing, brake light comes on for no reason, alerts to check transmission, check parking brake, check engine, car jus stops and wont move but engine still sounds like it's running,, and and all other electronic gauges are flashing . . . Has been taken back to dealer two/three times in one month to fix but but the same problem always comes back again,. Not impressed; I have owned Jeeps all my life never had this problem, this SUV is dangerous, I bought this car and paid $38 thousand and have 19k miles on it . I even tried to trade it in with the same dealer and was told it was only worth 17k which is less than half what I paid for it a year and a half ago! how is this even legal? why am I making car payments for a SUV that Chrysler knows is defective and one which they have not resolved issues ? how can Chrysler get away with this ? and this is the auto manufacturer that our government financially bailed out a few year with our tax dollars? how would Chrysler respond if we all quit making payments on our loans ? I have been researching thousands of other complaints, same Jeep, same year, etc. I am becoming more and more convinced that Chrysler really doesn't care. They got their money upfront ! furthermore they should not be allowed to continue to be in business while their products are known safety hazards to the consumer. ! chuck d mount pleasant, SC.
Third time same issue. 2015 Jeep Cherokee. While vehicle in motion service transmission, service park brake, malfunction indicator light, d(drive) flashing on dashboard, barely made it up a hill, had to press accelerator all the way to floor. Very dangerous-other vehicles do not know what is happening. Occured 2 times in 2weeks after software updated. Not many regrets in my life but buying this vehicle tops the list.
Flat tow owner addendum card recall s13 customer satisfaction notification we own a 2015 Jeep equipped with Jeep active drive ii transfer case. We bought this vehicle because you could flat tow on the ground. Now fca is sending out addendum cards telling us that you can't flat tow your vehicle. Unless we the owners pay to have a wiring kit and battery installed. Because our vehicle may shake on rough roads while towing. Fca said that this is not a safety issue. If this is not a safety issue then what is it?? we have friends that have the 2014 Jeep equipped the same. We were following them on the highway and saw their vehicle bounce from side to side not shake. They have already have had to have the transmission and transfer case replaced. I have contracted the dealership where the vehicle was purchased, fca group recall assistance center, and Chrysler corp. In phoenix was also contacted by dealership. That the repairs is on us. Also the recall s13 is only for the addendum card.
-revving up on its own when in park. Sometimes I have to wait up to a minute for it to settle down so I can put in into drive (original issue that only seems to have been exacerbated from the software update). -rpms spike when downshifting causing a slight acceleration -speeds up without my foot on the gas pedal -lurches forward 90% of the time when I take my foot off the brake, this is unsafe in traffic conditions -lurches forward when I put it into drive. -sticks in park, drive or reverse.
I have owned this vehicle for 4 months and every 3 weeks I have to return it for service due to the transmission, 4x4 and traction control not working. Starts off in 3rd - 4th gear at any given time (almost been hit several times), will accelerate and surge forward during down shifting while stopping (almost hit several different vehicles) and now surges to 7000rpm when turning right and parking break has locked up 3 different times while in gear. 2 different dealerships don't know what to fix because it doesn't register any codes, they also tell me that this is a huge problem on all 9 speed transmissions they make, not just the one's in Jeeps. But since they don't know what to fix and therefore its not an issue and I have to take my unpredictable and unsafe vehicle home and not the loaner because Jeep will not pay for it. I have contacted Jeep who assigned me a "resolution case manager" who will no longer return my phone calls for buy back or trading for a different vehicle. Is that their resolution, blow everyone off and hope we all go away?? why is nothing being done for everyone's safety? why are they still knowingly selling these vehicles with no know fix? how long before someone gets seriously injured? there is more than enough information that I have read on this page yet there is no action? isn't that what this site is for? action?.

Problem started while moving. Now it's as soon as it startsmy problem started June 2015, whole dash lights up tire pressure, service air bag,4wd unavailable, brake failure, and when comes to stop disengages transmission. Same thing started again August 3rd 2015 same list again. Received back again sept 2nd 2015 drove for 2 days. Back to dealer again. Still there currently have not received back cannot figure problem out Chrysler is involved but they are rediculas case number available if needed.
4/3/15 transmission recall work completed. 4/25/15 car would not shift properly. Email of notification from Jeep at time light came on read: malfunction indicator light indicates your vehicle needs service, prolonged driving could cause damage to the engine control system. Car taken to local dealer 4/25/15-5/8/15 transmission replaced. 5/13/15-5/15/15 no power steering, abs and no 4 wheel drive available dashboard lights on. No email from Jeep stating lights on. Email from Jeep had been automatically sent at time engine light was activated. When service person was informed he said it was because battery had been disconnected for transmission work and I'd have to reload app. Service center states no history of dashboard lights on but did have history of a loss of communication. This is why the car had stopped email notification to me. The car no longer is communicating with it's programmed computerized parts ie; it's doing whatever it wants. 5/14/2015 contacted Jeep given case mngr rich contact number 1-800-763-8422 ext 40752, email rf1017@Chrysler. When the failure would occur, the transmission could not be used in reverse. The contact also indicated that while stopped at a red light on a slight incline and secured in drive, the vehicle would roll in reverse. The failure recurred also on a flat road surface and while the vehicle was stationary.
