The back up camera gets snowy at time - you can not tell what you are looking at when trying to back out of a spot where you can not see around other cars - various time when putting in reverse - radio volume takes a minute to adjust at various time - radio has been replaced - has been happening for several months on and off.

2 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 07/03/2020

This is about the shifter. We began getting warning message about "shifter error". Shortly after that my wife told me she had problems "making the car turn off" in our driveway. I got in and could not put the car in park. I fiddled with it until I finally got it into park and tried to turn the Jeep off but even with the engine off all of the electrical things (radio, dashboard lights, beeping, interior lights etc. . ) were still going. I could not restart the Jeep without a jumper cable. When I restarted the interior lights went back to "normal". I tried to turn the Jeep off and the same thing happened. I went through the same process again, got the Jeep started and drove it to the dealership. First they told me that it was just a bad battery. When I complained about all of the news about shifter problems with this model they told me that I needed a new battery and the "shift bezel and harness" needed to be replaced. I am 4 weeks out of my 3 year warranty so I paid $857. 02 for this work. The service man put a note on bill that says "if light comes back on we need to "replace shifter also - $890. 00" I believe that this issue is a safety defect not normal wear and tear and that the 2017 Jeep should be recalled. My wife is now afraid to drive her Jeep. Also, the "shifter error" message just came back on one day after getting the Jeep back. The service man told me that sometimes the Jeep does not recognize it when the Jeep is in park. Please help. Some is going to get hurt. Try googling "Jeep shifter" and you'll see how many complaints about this exact problem are out there.

3 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 02/18/2019

On numerous occasions when I start my vehicle the all of the lights on the shifter light up. The dash will then say the message "service shifter now". The only way to clear the message is to shut my car off and restart it. Sometimes 3 or 4 times in a row. Last time it happened I hooked up a tester to see if it gave a code. It gave code u0164 "lost communication with hvac control module". I shut it off and restarted and the dash said "no bus" and I had no control over my front windows, radio, touch screen or hvac. My heater was on high and so was the fan. I couldn't do anything to change it. After I shut it off for apx. 15 minutes or so it corrected itself. Speeds varied from 0 mph up to 60 mph. Sometimes had to drive with the message because it wouldn't go away after restarting the vehicle several times.

4 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2018

My 2017 Jeep wouldn't start on September 22,23 2018 while parked in driveway. It made a sound like the battery was dead and didn't have enough juice to start. After attempting to start multiple times and trying to turn off radio and headlight. It finally turned over, but after returning home from running errands, the following morning on the 23rd it wouldn't not start until I received a jump. There was a p code on the dashboard of car. Ive also experience issue with it not wanting to excellerate even with excessive amount of pressure to the gas peddle.
