I was driving and the following happened: Jeep completely died while driving, battery light illuminated & the screen displayed "place in p, then select gear", I attempted it but I had no power, no ability to steer or brake. I was also broken down in on coming traffic and wasn't able to move. I had to put in neutral and push my Jeep out of the middle of the hwy. I'm 26 and 5'4. I'm scared for my life. I cried all the way to work. All I could see was getting impaled by a driver, getting killed and risking losing my 2 year old son! I'm not happy, I'm scared for my life and I have no idea what to do or where to turn! the dealership isn't answering my calls or responding to any messages!.
After starting the car and shifting to reverse the car stalls. Also while driving the car has displayed three times in different occasions displays "service shifter" and the lights turn red on the shift stick (keep in mind the car is automatic with 9 speed transmission). I just got the car a week ago and I am scared to drive it. The car is a 2017 with 35k miles, now I understand why they sold it back to the dealer.
I was taking my car out of park when I noticed a really loud clicking noise coming from the shifter. I took it back to the dealership and I was told that the shifter would be replaced. When I picked my truck up the noise was even louder, and this time I had an error message on my dash board that read "service shifter". At that time the dealership had already replaced the shifter. After they ran more test and attempted to fix it a total of 10 times, I am still having the same issue, where the error message says "service shifter" and the clicking sound is very loud. After speaking with the service manager at the dealership, he informed me that the shifter was just recently replaced once again and that the other attempts to replace the shifter were a result of the replacement shifters being "bad' (defected). Chrysler customer service has been notified of every occasion that my vehicle has been serviced for this issue, and they have even escalated this matter to their corporate level technicians known as "star". I was told by customer service that star was unsure of the issue upon them being contacted in reference to this issue. I have yet to see an active recall on this part, but out of the year and 8 months that I have owned this truck, I have spent approximately a year and 4 months taking it to the dealership to be serviced for the shifter.
On October 23, 2018 I was traveling down the highway when I slowed up to make a turn and the truck turned off while turning with a vehicle behind me. Thank god I was able to steer the vehicle to the side of the road. I have filed another complaint with this same issue this is very dangerous and I pray my husband or I don't cause a fatality or be a fatality due to this 2017 Jeep by Chrysler malfunctioning. I've noticed I'm not the only one that's experiencing this issue please help and hold Chrysler reliable to fix this issue.

While in crude controls my Jeep speeds up and past the set speed and keep on going faster.

Also, the "service shifter" light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the furey Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram dealer (330-863-1144, located at 206 s carrollton st, malvern, OH 44644) where it was stated that an unknown recall repair was performed against such failure. However the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 35,717. Fe.
Due to the limit on text characters I have attached the 17-page document explaining the safety issues.

1. Consumer is a permanent and total disabled vet (unemployable) and this vehicle is the only vehicle consumer has. 2. I have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee trailhawk kl (xxx) I have owned since day one with 56k miles. 3. At all times I did not receive any recall notices for correct known safety issues. 5. I have obd-ii tools of vlinker (use everyday for livedata), bluedriver and togdog. 6. For almost as long as I have had the Jeep I have experienced the following. When I say the following I mean, at all times: a. Any type of road- surface- weather- time of day- city, highway and interstate driving- speed to include deaccelerating, at stop sign/light- 1-3 x’s a day, weekly- it doesn’t matter when or where b. The ptu was replaced in 2018 according to service report, service stating they couldn’t replicate issue although they had videos, etc a total of 4-x’s c. But, I keep experiencing the following: d. Loss of acceleration, push on gas pedal nothing happens, sometimes can let off for a bit and then accelerates, revs to 6-7k up/down using/not cruise, cruise doesn’t turn off, pulling trailer and not- lose brakes when stopped rolls back, parking brake message, traction control message, service engine message, loud engine noises from in front of driver, rear back and under center console- lose of rear wheel traction, loss of park- shifting to park grinding noises, 7. Below is a google shared link for anyone that includes videos as it happens, obd-ii scans in . Cvs and . Brc files along with screenshots of the codes. [xxx] 8. Upon researching these issues I have found 1000s of complaints online regarding the same issues I experience. Including Jeep compass- renegade- wrangler- grand Cherokee. 9. Upon further research it seems this consumer is the only one with video during the event and data of said event. 10. I am still retrieving older vids. 11. Vids and documents to large to attach. The shifting of the vehicle is erratic. Sometimes when accelerating it will not change gears, redlining before it eventually does shift, lurching the car forward. This can take an extremely long time for the car to shift like it should and is a safety concern in traffic as others are not expecting this odd behavior. It can cause issues when trying to accelerate and merge on to the highway. Multiple dealerships have indicated that they hear this from owners all the time but that Chrysler has provided no resolution. The manufacturer has refused on multiple occasions to inspect the vehicle. At 1200 miles the check engine light came on. The dealership indicated the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced but Chrysler refused to replace it.
