general problems of the 2018 Jeep Cherokee

My Jeep veers left and right sharply while I drive. It does not take off pulling into traffic-I have to wait for total total clearance-there is no take off. My gas tank was filled three days ago and it is already below 50%. I drive 7 miles to and from work Monday-Friday, nowhere else. I have avoided several accidents due to these problems. These problems happen everyday. I have take it in to my Jeep dealership-hendricks at least four times over the years and they drive it, say they find nothing and return it to me to bring back if the problems arise again. Help before this car kills me.

When I take a turn or slam on my brakes sometimes my vehicle shuts off and flashes battery on the dash. Even though I’ve changed the battery I’m still having the same issue. I also have issues with my fuel level. The numbers jump around constantly and seem to not add up to the miles I drive.

Cracked oil housing pump failure fuel tube leak the car shifts while in drive it jumps like it gets stuck in a gear.

Oil leak found on driveway. 2018 Jeep Cherokee limited taken in for an oil change and diagnosis. Jeep Cherokee has oil leaking into the oil filter housing. Oil filter housing is plastic and needs to be replaced with a metal housing and new gaskets, along with a coolant change and oil change. This appears to be a common failure. Repairs are costly.

Fuel flooding engine and ruining catalytic converter.

Unknown…the Jeep using oil terribly, with no leaks. I have it serviced every 3000 miles, and it is always low or no oil on the dipstick at that time. I just had the oil changed, and fuel injection cleaned about a month ago…less than 700 miles since. The Jeep is cutting off while driving. It won’t start back for 2-3 minutes, and I’m sitting in traffic. It’s terrifying!!! when checked with oem, it doesn’t show any codes, although an engine light is on. I’ve spoken with 3 different mechanics, that all stated this is common with this model…with no solution, no recall, and no idea what part to repair. I’ve been told throttle body, throttle body clutch, starter, etc…no one really knows where to start. And those parts are not cheap to replace as an experiment. I bought my Jeep new, with only 3 miles on it. This issue is new, within the last 2 weeks. The losing oil has continued since purchase, and it will cut off if the oil is low. This is different. As I stated before, the oil was just changed, and is not low. Please help!!!.

Jeep Cherokee 2018 limited ac turns off throughout the drive. It makes the SUV vibrate to the point I can’t see out the review mirror. Had ac serviced and checked. Issue persisted shortly after.

Check engine light stays on. Computerized message states check electrical service throttle. When I get new gas in the car. The car stops in the middle of the highway or at the stop lights/signs and dies. Car has a very hard time starting back up. I had $1110. 00 of repairs and took the car back to the same repair shop 4 times. It has never been able to be repaired. It is very dangerous to be driving on the roads and the car suddenly dies and has a very difficult time restarting the engine. This is only the first 30 miles after it has been filled with new gas. I have a friend living in another state. She has the same model of Jeep as I do and she has the same challenge with her car.

My car keeps stopping in the middle of me driving. I've had the car about a year and a half. Today the electric throttle light is flashing and car did not want to go in the middle of a double intersection and highway. Yesterday it read oil pressure.

Within the last 6 months this vehicle has left me stranded at least 5 times. The first time it overheated because the heating coil is so close to another line that is created a hole that caused the vehicle to overheat. The second time was an ignition coil. The third time was because it was time for an oil change which was not the case because it wasn't even time for an oil change. The other times were (battery) related but yet with the battery being replaced 200 bucks later I am left stranded on the road in the middle of traffic without any indication that it was going to cutoff. I fear taking it on the interstate. Within the last 24 hours I have been left stranded after having the dealership again yesterday tell me I need a new battery which I replaced but yet broke down again this morning. The vehicle will start but it seems like now 2-3 minutes it cuts off while driving and has to be jumped by another vehicle. This has to be an electrical problem. . . The lights don't dim; everything stays on for a bit once I take the keys out, but yet I am being told my VIN has no recalls. Once again there is no lights or anything that appear on the dash letting me know where is an issue.

Vehicle has stalled on multiple occasions. Safety hazards include stalling in middle of intersection and being stranded. Call out for service at this time, therefore problem has not been reproduced or confirmed. Not inspected yet. No police involvement. No warning light-including battery or engine light- upon initial start of vehicle. Battery and engine warning lights visible at time of stall. Battery was turning over but engine not engaging, however, able to restart vehicle after multiple attempts. No jump start required. Warning light disappeared after restart of vehicle and only reappeared upon subsequent stalls. No apparent issues- other than stalling- while vehicle is driven. Problem has been very inconsistent.

My car will randomly shut off going 60mph. I will start it back up and it will make a pop sounds and give a little gas to go and it acts like I I’m giving it more gas than I am. I have almost been hit on freeways because of this. This is the 2nd time in 2 years. I took to a dealership and was told they had to rest my motor but gave me no paper work on that.

Start/stop system - as I was pulling out of a parking lot I stopped and then needed to get a quick insert into traffic. As I started to accelerate the system shutdown and sputtered before starting again, needless to say I was almost rammed by traffic. This happened two times on the same day I was almost hit because of the off/sputter/restart sequence.

Engine stall, shuts down while driving.

Had a recall fixed recently. Now showing three errors. P2122, p0123, p0222.

I was driving on the city street coming to a stop sign. I stopped at the stop sign and when I went to pull out, the car slowed down, puttered and the accelerated more than I gave it gas to. Then I go to the gas station & pullin into the parking lot, the parking lot has somewhat of a steep incline, when I go to pull in, the car puttered and the dies . And thats when the service shifter came on . I followed the directions of the service shifter but that didnt work. I turned the car off and on, it started up fine and the service shifter turned off.

Irregular oil consumption in the 2. 4 liter model of the Jeep Cherokee. While driving on the highway the car shut off due to low oil pressure. There was not any warning and the car was not due for an oil change.

Car stalls while driving. When letting off the accelerator, the car will make a beeping sound and car dies. It takes a couple tries to get the car restarted. This only happens while car is cold. Once it is running for a while it doesn't seem to die. Seems related to the complaints of recall u87.

Vehicle has stalled approximately 10 times in the last 2 weeks. Some on the streets and 3 times on the freeway. Half the time I was with my children. You have to put it back on park, wait about 10-15 seconds, then switch it on an off three times before it starts again.

Tl- the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 mph when the vehicle suddenly stalled without any warning. The contact stated that after a few times they were able to restart the vehicle, however, the vehicle would stall intermittently as they drove the vehicle to a safer location. The contact stated that the failure occurred a total of three times. The contact called fuccillo Dodge Chrysler Jeep (located at 10329 us rt 11, adams, NY 13605, 844-353-7100) and was informed that the vehicle tended to burn more oil than necessary and this was the cause of the vehicle shutting down. The dealership also informed the contact that there was nothing to inform them of low oil before the failure would occur. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and referred the contact back to the dealer. The approximate failure mileage was 26,000. Gl.

Starting issues battery will not stay charged no help from dealership . Or roadside assistance.

The vehicle has stalled out three times while pulling out into traffic, the dealer said when the oil gets low it shuts off. There was no oil showing the oil stick at all and I have only 2,008 miles on it. It should not completely use all the oil in 2,000 miles.

While driving car completely loses all power. Becomes difficult to control. Cannot be steered or moved. Turning onto a street at low speed in a very busy intersection with streetcar tracks. Car completely shut down and became inoperable. Vehicle stuck in traffic with streetcar and trucks almost hitting it from behind. Could not be pushed.

Tl-the contact owns a 2018 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that gas leaks from the vehicle and the result may be a loose fuel tube. The vehicle presents an abnormal burning smell. The smell comes directly from the engine and fills the vehicle with this stinch. The contact also stated while driving the vehicle's amount of gas seems to be lower than what it was at the pump after filling up. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not towed. They vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not informed of the issue. The mileage was 7,123. Jw.

- 2. 4l excessive oil consumption - new engine at 8k miles - emissions issues tripping the check engine light - air conditioner went out - computer/electrical issues with dash and interior - transmission stalling in traffic. - cannot maintain speed with cruise control - once parts are removed for repair they cannot be replaced properly and end up falling off. Fca America know about all these issues and continues to produce these cars at a price way above their value. Bottom line they are a fraudulent business that is producing crappy vehicles.
