The 4wd has a warning light that says 4wd not available. I had my mechanic run the code c14a7-97 and it stated ptu motor - component or system operation obstructed or blocked - active, pending, stored. I looked it up and there is an issue with this with the code c01 stating this is an issue but my vehicle says there are no recalls on my VIN. I have all the symptoms listed in the report saying it is a recall. I live in montana I need 4wd.
Vehicle lost power on the highway and rapidly decelerated. Svc 4wheel drive message light on. Not inspected yet.
Warning lights for multiple electric systems including blind spot monitoring, throttle control, stability control, and transmission all came on at the same time. Windshield wipers turned on on their own, car started behaving like it was neutral when in drive (would rev instead of accelerate when pressing gas pedal). After pulling over and turning the car off, car would not restart, brake pedal would not engage to attempt restart. Left stranded on side of road. Vehicle just crossed 37k miles.
The engine light came on and it was said that it was the evaporator canister and that it had to be replaced.
Driving the Jeep on the NJ turnpike the steering wheel went slack. My wife reacted by jerking the steering wheel which caused the vehicle to swerve into the adjacent lane nearly missing another vehicle and the guard rail. The Jeep was going 66 mph (the speed limit is 70mph there). I've taken the vehicle to the dealership we leased it from 3 times and they say they won't or can't repair it because when they test drove it the problem didn't occur. It is an intermittent, serious problem. There have been several incidents of this nature reported for this model Jeep in the NHTSA last year and this year. Because of the potential for a major accident driving this vehicle with this problem we restrict when and where we drive it.
