When activating the left turn signal both the left and right turn signal indicators began blinking. I had to cycle the turn signal switch both right and left and then to off to stop both indicators from blinking.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that the right turn signal fails to remain engaged intermittently. The failure had become more frequent as time progressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for another matter, and the owner was also informed about the failure. The dealer confirmed there was no recall attached. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact 24v239000 (exterior lighting, steering) expressed the same failure. The manufacturer was informed and confirmed that the VIN was not included the build date was 2 weeks out. The manufacturer referred the contact to the nhatsa hotline ot file a safety complaint. The failure mileage was approximately 29,000.
While on a road trip for the thanksgiving holiday on interstate 95, the in dash information cluster advised me that the right turn indicator on the vehicle failed. Upon pulling into a service station and inspecting the vehicle it was confirmed that the right rear turn indicator had indeed failed and would no longer illuminate. In addition to the failure of the turn signal the lane departure features of the vehicle were then disabled. When taking the vehicle in for service on the week of November 28th, I was advised that there was a known issue with water infiltration in the housing. The manufacturer of the vehicle is aware of the issue and has a 45 step process to diagnose the problem. As of today, December 16th, I have been unable for a dealer to obtain and install a replacement fixture to return my vehicle to road worthy operation. Florida statutes govern the safe operation of motor vehicles on its highways and my vehicle currently violates sections 316. 155 and 316. 610, preventing me from operating said vehicle on the highways of the state. I am unable to operate the vehicle lawfully on the roads but am still required to make monthly note payments on an vehicle in which I can not use legally.
