1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2021

The fuel tank skid plate is rotting away, this could cause the tank tank to fall out of the vehicle, this looks like a very common problem with a number of Jeeps and Dodge products.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2019

The problem started in January 2019. The vehicle started having idling issues, cold start in morning idles around 900, when put in reverse it dips to around 500 and wobbles back and forth while backing up, put in drive and it would be ok but would stall sometimes at stop sign- check engine light never came on. I had throttle body cleaned and fuel system service done and the engine light came on same day. Took it to the dealer for recalls and they replaced throttle body also. It drove ok for a day and I have the unstable idle back and the rpm jumps up while in drive but stopped at a light. About a week ago I am slowing down to stop at a light ahead and it starts vibrating like it is going to stall and the etc and tcs light came on and I shut it off and it cranked right back up and drove it the rest of the day with no issue. Etc light will come on while driving and cause no issues other than the unstable idle. Today-5-10-19, coming home and start to turn left and etc and tcs light come on and it seems like it is in limp mode because there is a loss of power and etc light is now blinking, so I pull in a parking lot, cut it off for five minutes and it cranks right back up with no lights on and I am able to drive 5 miles home.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2018

Car stalls out when driving or taking turns. Also stalls out when car is warming up and nobody is in the car several times. I can feel when I'm driving it also restats it self when I step on the gas pedal.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2016

I went to start my 2006 Jeep Commander and it would turn over, but it would not start. I finally worked with it a little bit and got it to start, but then my power steering went out. I cut it off and tried it again and everything went back to normal. However, when I got going, there was a horrible gas smell coming from the rear of the vehicle. This starting issue has happened multiple times and every time the power steering goes out. The vehicle was stationary at a public place after it had been running for about 30 minutes.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/29/2016

May 29th, 1026, while driving along I-80 in north platte, nebraska the Jeep suddenly, without warning accelerated on me causing an accident. I could not get the Jeep under control, ran off the road and into a highway sign before getting control. One witness even stated that it looked as if the Jeep "just took off". Been having issues with irregular rmps and now this. Why the sudden acceleration with loss of control?.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2015

Transmission over temp warning came across the dashboard and continued after truck was turned off and back on. Coolant and temps levels are normal. Warning has continued to come on past couple days at 60 degree weather with no reasoning as to why. No electrical failures or other problems exist.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2015

When almost stopped the engine revved up like the vehicle was power braking. . It happened twice on Jan 15, 2015 and again on jan16, 2015. . . It threw us forward and thankfully we had enough distance between us and the vehicle stopped at the red light in front of us that we did not hit it. . . . I consider this a safety hazard. It makes me leery to drive when it is acting like this. . . We did not have any previous problems with the Jeep before this date. I reported this to Chrysler and they told me there was nothing they could do about it. . I would need to take it to a dealer and have it checked out at my expense. We have not driven the vehicle since Jan. 16th.

Recall notice from Chrysler. Took Commander into shop for repair. After 4 hours, technician stated that unable to download program from corporate computer to fix. Need to bring car back later. This is the second time for a recall, and our car has been in there a total of 4 times for safety issues such as broken seat belts. It has been there a number of other visits, starting at 2555 miles, for defective windshield mount, defective gas fill line mount, and defective windshield wiper fluid pump. Previous hazards were handled, but resulted in a good number of days of at least 6 hour services. Now, after 4 hours, this service is not completed and I have to bring the car back again.
