The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander 4x4. On September 10, 2007, while driving 70 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The cruise control was engaged at the time of the failure. The contact stated that she was decelerating and the wheels and brakes locked up simultaneously. The vehicle restarted approximately 15 minutes later. Another failure occurred when she placed the vehicle in reverse. She stated that the vehicle failed to move while the gear was in reverse. She took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that the fuel pump failed. The vehicle is currently being repaired at the dealer. The contact only had the vehicle for thirty days before the failures began. The current and failure mileages were 2,436. Updated 09/26/07.
