Power train. The (tcm/pcm/tecm) Chrysler is recalling 24, 461 Jeep Commander vehicles equipped with 407 v8 engines. Th powertrain control module (pcm) was programmed with software that may allow the engine to stall under certain operating conditions. This could cause a crash without warning. ( my Jeep turns on, but it is not able to be moved, it is stalled indefinitely). I asked the dealer @rockwall Dodge, rockwall TX to check the pcm/tcm/tecm. They refused. Said they were not able to check this situation. Didn't have that equipment. Electrical system. This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. The air bag lights comes on randomly. The engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems. I am unable to unlock the ignition on several occasions. Suspension. Rock krawler recalled 44 performance suspension systems sold as aftermarket equipment for use on the vehicle listed above. We have had suspension issues on our Jeep. No one can find the issue to fix it. The Jeep makes noise at the suspension system.

I had gotten my sepertine belt replaced and it started showing message transmission over heating it had not aloud my Jeep to start and it made the starter go out to the alternator is now bad I have had it stall before I got the message and it about caused an accident several times until message. Brakes had skidded me about into a tree & other things and people when I had pressed on them two handful of times, it's like that were be slammed or something.
Electrical system is failing. Began with the electrical sunroof will not open/or slide all the way open, the sunroof electrical problem has been this way since I purchased it in 04/2019. Next the touchscreen panel for the radio am/fm, will shit off while driving down the road randomly and sporadically. Cd player quit working indefinitely, I cant even get my cd out of the cd player. Will not play any cd or radio if cd player is attempted to be activated. Airbag warning light is showing on dash 24/7, however, vehicle has never been wreaked. No airbag been deployed. Vehicle has never been in a wreak. Caused injury due to rough and rugged suspension and while driving the vehicle throws passengers and driver. Has been serviced & checked. Has failed to start 23 times in a row. Checked alternator, starter, ect. 7-10 minutes of attempting to start without luck. Professional mech. Claimed its the electrical system; pro mechanic fixed problem. Problem persists with electrical system has caused the gears to slip while cruise control is actively in use and if going up a hill rpm's will sky rocket from 1 to 6 in a heartbeat. Jeep Commander is a v6 but drives as a 4 cylinder. Driving on highway is dangerous when electrical system breaks down without warning. This has scared my fiance and I several times for fear of our lives. Suspension and shocks do not work well, as the slightest bump is rough and rugged throwing passengers & driver around. All these defects never occurred until 2021. Electrical system is the most important component of the vehicles makeup it makes everything run smoothly and every single day I have electrical system problems that effects my safety and anyone in my 08 Jeep Commander. This is a manufacturer problem, I know this because a professional mechanic informed me of this and asked me to request a recall on my vehicle. Please help to correct these issues for the safety of all those on the road. Thank you for your time and consideration. God bless.

Front and shutters and feels like it may vibrate of the road. Also the trans slips into neutral.
The recall (n23 NHTSA 13v 225) per shanepua, of Chrysler, that is now causing major problems on my vehicle was not tasked to my specific vehicle and they won't honor the recall. The other 2 recalls were poorly done in Feb 2020 and is now again causing problems.
All the lights on my dash panel went on & I lost power of the vehicle driving down the road. It came back on then off & on. This has happened several times. My catalytic converter has broken into a few pieces. The dealership said this happens often to these vehicles & believes there is a recall on them. I have had my vehicle 4 1/2 yrs & this is the 2nd time it needs to be replaced. My struts have gone a few times on my 2006 Jeep Commander. The rear seatbelt in the middle & driver rear don't latch & when they do its really tight on my daughter. Lastly multiple issues with the rear doors both passenger & driver sides. The handles don't work all the time. They have both been fixed 3 different occasions. They open when they feel like it. The child lock is not on.
Both lower arm bushings have substantial movement resulting in unsafe steering and clunky noise. This vehicle has not been abused or used off road.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Jeep Commander. When the contact purchased the vehicle from an independent source, she was not informed of its recall history. When initially purchased, the vehicle made an abnormal noise and there was extensive wobbling and a strong vibration in the rear. The contact was uncertain if the failure was related to a potential "death wobble" and the rear trac bar. The vehicle was taken to various independent repair facilities, but they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and the intermittent failure continued. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available.

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired according to a recall for the final drive module, which was reprogrammed and re-flashed. After the repair and driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle would downshift without warning, which caused the final drive module to overheat. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the final drive module needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and opened a case regarding the failure; however, a decision of the repair was not finalized. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Jeep Commander. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the front passenger side axle fractured causing the front passenger wheel to fracture and detach. In addition, the brake lines fractured and the brakes failed. The vehicle was skidding out of control and crashed into a concrete curb. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 125,000.
My wife and I were coming out of a parking lot in rowland heights turning right unto colima blvd. The car, a Jeep Commander 2007, shut off all of a sudden. This car has been recalled(p41) but because no parts are available it has not been fixed by Chrysler. This is not the first time this has happened but it was the first time with my wife in the car. It was a good thing there was no traffic at this time (about 4:00pm) I called the dealership we deal with and also sent a letter to the traffic safety administration in washington d. C. I was contacted by mr. Jim burke and we set up a time to meet March 31 at the Chrysler dealership in victorville. According to mr. Burke he is not associated with Chrysler. Mr. Burke inspected the car on the 31st of March. It also happened on the morning of March 31st about 100 yards from our house the car shut off again. This is about the fifth or sixth time this has happened . The first time through the fourth time it was always late in the evening usually on a Saturday. I'm really frustrated with this process. My wife is right why send out a recall notice if no part will be available? I'd like to get my car repaired so that we are not involved in an accident due to this recall by Chrysler.
Vehicle turned on and as I was pulling out of drive way, the truck turned off and could not get it to turn back on, it makes only a clicking sound, I have called three different Jeep dealers and say to not have the part or know when it will be available. It has been 5 months since the recall, how much longer should any one have to wait for the availability of the ignition switch and I am now without a vehicle, which is my only means of commuting. And to make matters worst right now I don't have the means to fix it out of pocket, I can't afford it. Please assist in this matter, something has to be done.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. While driving at 70 mph, there was an abnormal noise and the vehicle began to decelerate without warning. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear axle was hanging out of the rear end. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 88,000. The VIN was not available.
Engine idles when stopped and sometimes the Jeep lunges forward. Lights on dash come on intermittingly. Tires keep needing replaced even when getting the Jeep continually balanced and rotated. They wear down on the outer rim of front tires only. Have to keep getting new batteries because vehicle keeps dying. I have had more problems with this vehicle since I bought it new in 2006 than I have had with a car in a lifetime. Interior power stations dont work, passenger window will not close or open at times. Some times the horn will just start going off. I keep receiving recall notices almost yearly. Jeep needs to recall this vehicle. It has been a lemon from the second I brought it home.
The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Commander. The contact stated that while driving at an unknown speed, the front end of the vehicle started to shake violently as the engine stalled. The contact received a notification for recall NHTSA campaign number: 14v438000 (electrical system). However, the part needed was not available for repair. The contact mentioned that the manufacturer had exceeded the reasonable amount of time for repair. Neither the manufacturer nor the dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 80,000.
1st problem was my interior lights flashing on and off. I could not get it to do it while at the dealers. 2008 I thought my transmission was going bad. The dealer said that my transmission had a leak and charged me to replace some part. Then it happened again. Then they said I needed to service the transmission. I am surprised that dealer never mention any problems with the Jeep Commander ( I thought it was just my car) as I have called several times about the car shifting into neutral, and wondering if it was a transmission problem. The problem comes and goes. I just paid my car off, and now when I ride on the express way and go past 60 the enitre car shakes bad. If I hit a bump I can hear something like a crack noise. Sometimes when I make a sharp turn I hear a click click noise. At this I didn't trust the dealer and was thinking that maybe it was my axil. Took it to pet boys and they could find anything wrong with it. They said I needed new tires, so I bought 4. The problem still continued. I am so upset as I am a single mom and just finished paying my car off. I also have had to replace the alternator, radiator, water pump, thermometer, which I though was normal as the car is 2006. Now past 2 days I can smell a funny smelly, white fog comes out of my vents, and the passenger side floor is wet. I googled the problem and it says that it is the "heater core". The tire light is alway on with no flat. The engine light comes on frequently and says check gas cap. So far I have bought 3 gas caps. I can't believe that I struggled to pay this car off and now having all of these problems. I am not sure which problems are normal wear and tear and which ones are a manufacturer problems, but this is a night mare. I am so mad that I ever bought my Jeep Commander. Jeep should be ashamed of themselves.
