1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2026

[xxx] [xxx] , [xxx] [xxx] 2/7/26 to whom it may concern, I am writing to formally express my concern regarding ongoing, critical safety issues with my vehicle, which have been increasingly dangerous while driving. These issues appear to be interconnected and involve multiple components, including the valve body, transmission, tcm, abs module, ecm, and throttle body. These problems have posed significant risks to my safety and the safety of others on the road. On several occasions, while driving at highway speeds (approximately 70 mph), the traction control and abs warning lights have illuminated, and the vehicle has suddenly lost acceleration. This malfunction seems to cause the car to change gears unexpectedly or, in some instances, stop accelerating altogether. As a result, I have been forced to pull over to the side of the road in order to perform a youtube-suggested reset just to get my vehicle back in motion. This situation has nearly led to accidents, as I have found myself stranded in traffic, unable to accelerate, or worse, pulling into traffic where the car fails to accelerate, almost causing collisions with other vehicles. Additionally, during colder weather, I have experienced issues with the throttle, where it becomes erratic and unresponsive. Despite having multiple repairs made, the problem persists, and I have observed that the throttle may either rev unexpectedly or fail to shift at all. While I understand that some repairs have been made, I am deeply concerned that the vehicle's ongoing malfunctions are indicative of serious safety hazards, which should be addressed by a professional dealership, at no cost rather than being dismissed with the assertion that "it won’t hurt anything. " given the potential for life-threatening incidents and the fact that I have already had several close calls, I strongly urge that these issues be diagnosed and rectified by a certified dealership or technician. , ran out of spac information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. 2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2024

Speedometer doesn't work, abs, brakes, engine and traction light keeps on. The shift lever changes by itself from d to m while driving. Abs module has to be replaced at my cost when other 2011 Jeep Compass have a recall f 50 for the same issue.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/27/2020

Wipers go off when making a turn and/or turning signal light on. Vehicle randomly gets engine light on cold days (new england winters). The Jeep will jolt when trying to accelerate or stall for a moment before being able to accelerate when stopped (at a light for example) and some nights the Jeep will not accelerate even when pushing down on the accelerate and no "revving" sound occurs as though the car does not register that it needs to accelerate and acceleration slowly increases to no more than 25-30 mph and stalls at an incline. No light comes on when accelerating issues occur. When accelerating issues occur, they ten to occur inner city rather than highway.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2019

Just purchased this car. It has 73,000 miles. Driving in 100 degree temps going 75-80 and transmission green light comes on. Sounds like it can't change gears. I experienced a total loss of acceleration.

Failure Date: 08/08/2019

Trouble with transmission shifting and lights stop working at times.

6 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/27/2019

The car went into lymph mode while driving on the highway. It was very dangerous. The car was still running and on, but wouldn't accelerate. After researching online, this has happened to multiple people. It is a problem in the transmission. Even if the transmission is replaced, this will happen again. It is a malfunction in the engine that causes this. Jeep knows about the problem and has not recalled or attempted to correct the issue. Lives could be lost. Please demand they recall and pay for the problem.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2018

My car is going into limp mode while driving, going down really quickly basically. While driving on interstate car decided to go into low speed twice no almost causing a rear-ended collision thankfully driver behind was paying attention and I only received road rage from driver. It shook my wife up so much she was home for two days with xtra anxiety medication. Since that incident car comes and goes in limp mode, so now the car sits my wife is terrified to drive it. I know recall on other Jeep models, I feel this too should be recalled.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/17/2018

I was driving the car in the freeway about 70mph . Out of no where car can not be accelerated and lost all power. I was lucky that traffic was not bad otherwise I would have got other and myself hurt. Call Jeep customer service and they advised me to pull over and put the car in neutral for 15-20 minutes to let the transmission "cool off" and to try it again. To my surprised it work. However about an hour later same thing happen. I take the car to my mechanic and he advise me to get rid of the car, he told me that Jeep knows well that this cars are transmission are overheating and losing all power but they refuse to make a recall and fix the issue. I can not express to you guys how scary is to be driving and known that at any minutes your car can lose all power and you will be hit or kill. I urge you guys to take this into consideration and help me and others that are driving this cars to have Jeep fix them. I call Jeep customer service and asked them why they have not done anything to resolve this issue, I was told that all she can do was "document" my concerns but that was all she can do. I am very upset knowing that even if I spend the money to put a new transmission this issue will not go away since all this transmissions are defective. Please make Jeep be responsible for this matter and have them recall all the cars that are affected by this issue. Otherwise the public is at risk to have mayor accidents and deaths. Thank you.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2015

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2014

Vehicle dash red lightning and stability control lights turned on with warning chime upon braking at the traffic light on the freeway off ramp while exiting interstate 10. This was accompanied with rough engine idle and lack of power for accelerating. Turning the engine off for a minute and restarting seems to clear these warning lights and vehicle operates normally. Vehicle was towed to nearest Chrysler service center with diagnostics completed and the mass flow sensor replaced. Issue occurred again the following week. I drove the vehicle to the same Chrysler service center without shutting off the engine so that the service technician could read the error codes and observe/document the warning lights lit in the dash. A third visit to the same service center resulted in the replacement of the powertrain control module which was covered under extended warranty. Issue occurred again within two weeks after the most recent service visit. I had mentioned to the service advisor that I had one incident prior to the initial event for this issue of braking hard which most likely engaged the abs-anti-lock braking system. The service advisor did not seem to believe there might be a connection between this incident and this issue. This issue occurs several times each week and only upon stopping after exiting the freeway. Vehicle operates normally during street driving with no problems. When this issue does occur, pulling into a nearby gas station and shutting off the engine seems to reset everything with the vehicle operating normally after restarting the engine. I have been dealing with this unresolved issue with Chrysler for approximately 4 months.

11 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 02/07/2014

The contact owns a 2011 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle unexpectedly increased acceleration. The brake pedal was engaged repeatedly until the vehicle came to a stop. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 34,151.

12 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2012

I left work from downtown pittsburgh at 4:15 pm, and while crossing outbound on the vetrans bridge, my Jeep turned itself off. The steering became extremely tough, and I was barely able to get to the side of the road. I turned off the Jeep, turned it back on, and thankfully it started again. If traffic was moving faster, like it usually does, I would have caused a wreck.
