Vehicle is experiencing the same issue for recall 15a, NHTSA campaign number 23v058000. The instrument panel no longer adjusts its lighting, and remains extremely dim at all times. This is especially detrimental during the hours of daylight. Vehicle is a 2022 Jeep Compass, similar to those under recall 15a, and is not currently listed for the recall. Fca refused to take the complaint until a dealer officially identifies the issue. The local dealership wanted to charge ~$160 for a diagnostic check.
3 weeks after I got my 2022 Jeep Compass, I noticed I couldn’t see how fast I was going, if I need gas, or anything on the cluster steering panel (the part that tells you how much gas you have, and how fast you’re going) it’s been taken to Jeep 3 times, I’ve contacted Jeep themselves (corporate) I’ve been told my VIN has no recall but the dealership indicates I’m having the ambient sensor issue (but only 90 cars have recall on it) basically the cluster light display is very dim in the day light. This is a hazard and unsafe due to the fact that I can’t see how fast I’m going, I can’t see when I need gas. I’ve been told the parts can’t be ordered until my car is on the recall list. It’s getting frustrating to have a brand new car with this not working, and it’s very unsafe. I could run out of gas and not even know, I could get a speeding ticket or in an accident. It’s not fair.
My cluster display has been on dark night mode since January 2023. I purchased the vehicle in April 2022. During the day, I cannot see the cluster display, and have missed gas warning lights, low tire lights, and other emergency lights due to the dimness of the screen. It is a hazard to drive as daylight is longer-- and the navigation screen is also impossible to see during daylight hours. There is no way to brighten either the cluster display or navigation system. The dealership confirmed the issue and instructed me to sit back and wait for an update in January, and there have been no updates yet.
The display, where the speed and other pertinent information is displayed, is in dark or night mode. It is very if not impossible to see during daylight hours. It is very distracting not to be able to see the information that you should be able to this vehicle.
The cluster panel dimmer toggle for my 2022 Jeep Compass does not work correctly anymore. It stays very bright even at night and I cannot adjust it darker. I took it to my local Jeep dealership for service and they said it's a software problem and they cannot fix it until Jeep recalls it and fixes it themselves. The instrument panel is so bright that I cannot drive my car at night because it causes night blindness and I cannot see traffic. The toggle switch worked correctly for the first 6 months of having my SUV, but then one day it did not and now it cannot be fixed.
Greetings, there is day time dash dimming issues, and unable to adjust manually. Anti collision feature randomly turns off while driving. Auto on and off feature for fuel economy has not worked in 14 months. Finally, a hard gear jerking event occurs when traveling at slow speed that feels like being rear ended by another vehicle. Not feeling safe with this Jeep. Dealer had the vehicle for week to tell me these are known issues with no remedy available. Please help!.
Center cluster on dash (fuel level, eco save meter, etc. ) is stuck in night time mode. I've tried everything to reset so I can see my dash durning the day. Its so dark that I ran out of gas during the day becuase I could see my fuel level! dealership wants my vehicle for 5 days to figure it out and they dont know what to do. Fix this please! it started a month after I bought the car. (9 miles first drive, went dark around 3,000 miles, still dark after 10,000 miles) this is very frustating when you cant see your dash!.
Both the center digital cluster screen as well as the center radio screen have gone dim back in November 2022 and have not come back to normal brightness since. Both are not able to be seen during the daytime hours. I have had my vehicle at my local dealership twice and was told to wait for a recall and that there was nothing they can do. I cannot see my gas milage or gage during the daytime. I cannot view the digital speedometer during the day time either. I am at a loss on what to do with this issue. Jeep has provided no fixes. This is a safety issue especially during the day time. I cannot see my screens!.
Display on dash is stuck in "night mode", during the day I can not see my speedometer nor my gas gauge.
Dash lights, hazard button, radio stuck in night mode. Fuel gauge, speedometer, engine temperature and check engine/ tire pressure gauge are not visible in daylight. Creates a hazard when unable to see viable information like a flat tire, engine overheating, or low on gas. Tried to get it fixed but was told Jeep currently has not issued a solution to fix it.
I purchased my 2022 Jeep Compass on March 26, 2022 and at the time it was functioning correctly, but about 7 months in to owning my vehicle the infotainment screen and gauge clusters (center clusters) went so dim that I could not see those screen anymore during the daylight. I called my dealership to report the issue, but at the time they did not know anything about it, so I had to deal with it till I did my own research and figured out that there was a recall going on. I called back took it in and they documented it, and communicated that currently no fix is released. A few months pass and my life and other in the vehicle are at risk each time I drive my car as I am unable to read the screen or properly use my infotainment center for directions and such. My safety and safety of others is extremely important and currently at risk each time I drive my car. There were a few messages that came up when I first bought my car that stated something about my screen needing service so I took it back to the dealership the next day (the message came up same day I bought my car) and they said that it was find and that nothing needed to be done. I am reporting this because my Jeep is impacted with this defect and I am needing it fixed as it is extremely dangerous as well as I bought my car new and expect the basic amenities to work properly. I do have an open case directly with Jeep but they are extremely hard to get ahold of.
Vehicle will not switch to night mode for interior dash and infotainment system display. The center touch screen unit has already been replaced for a separate problems of it turning itself off and staying black with no access to touch screen controls. The option to adjust the night settings is greyed out, so it cannot be selected to adjust. Daytime setting has to be adjusted to lowest setting and is still extremely bright while driving at night. I have had this vehicle into the dealership several times for this issue, the last time the service manager had to drive the vehicle at night to "duplicate" the problem. I had to go to the dealership, sit in the car and show him exactly what was going on. It is very difficult to drive at night with bright dash and center display lights. I have reported this as a safety issue several times in writing. I was told Jeep is working on a fix for this problem, but it has been several months now, with no fix. I email weekly for an update.
The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the instrument panel was not visible when the headlights were in the dim setting. The contact took the vehicle to a dealer where they confirmed the failure but informed him there were no the parts available to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.
Instrumental cluster display does not display during daylight hours. Gas gauge and speed gauges are not visible due to faulty illumination. Inability to view during operation diverts is a safety hazard. I have taken the vehicle to Dodge service centers twice but they are unable to fix or repair this issue stating that they have not been told of this problem by Dodge/Chrysler.
The cluster digital display on the 2022 Jeep Compass appears dim in full sunlight and during the day when there is “minimum backlighting. ” the car has been to the dealer multiple times and has been reported to the manufacturer. I’m being told there is no fix at this and the engineers are working on it. I was told I would be notified with an “update” when it becomes available. I’ve experienced this issue for over a year. Not being able to see the instrument panel in the daylight is a safety issue.
