The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the instrument panel was blank. While driving during the day, the instrument cluster screen was not visible. The contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign numbers: 23v576000 (electrical system) and 23v058000 (electrical system); however, the VIN was not included in the recalls. The contact called the local dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall and informed the contact that the repair would be an out-of-pocket expense. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

2 Instrument Cluster/panel problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

The contact’s wife owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact state that upon start up, the instrument panel was illuminated and visible; however, once the start/stop button was depressed, the instrument panel displayed dimmed. The contact then stated that after the vehicle was shifted into reverse(r), the instrument panel illuminated and displayed visibly; however, once shifted into drive (d), the instrument panel displayed dimmed. The contact stated that he was concerned for his wife’s safety with the inability to see critical information on the instrument panel. An undisclosed dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the failure was not a safety concern and an appointment was scheduled for a later month. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 7,000.

3 Instrument Cluster/panel problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2023

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the instrument panel display was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and the dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 23v058000 (electrical system) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

4 Instrument Cluster/panel problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2023

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the instrument panel was faulty and the contact was unable to see the fuel gauge, tire pressure monitoring system, battery, or the temperature gauge. Additionally, the low-beam headlight was abnormally bright. The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the digital display on the instrument cluster failed to illuminate some of the warning light features. The contact then stated that the digital display was dim, and the infotainment system failed to adjust the settings. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the digital sensor was missing and needed to be repaired however, the contact stated that he was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. 7 Instrument Cluster/panel problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2023

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the instrument panel seized in night mode, leaving the display light extremely dim. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who confirmed that the failure was a known issue; however, there was no repair available. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.

8 Instrument Cluster/panel problem

Failure Date: 12/21/2022

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Compass. The contact stated that the instrument cluster display was dim. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the instrument panel center cluster display was insufficiently illuminated, and the contact was informed that the wiring jumper harness needed to be added. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 23v058000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a different dealer and informed that the VIN was not included in a recall; however, the repair would be covered under warranty.
