Recall n45 / NHTSA 13v-252 we have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee that we took to the dealer to have the recall corrected. The vehicle came with a gas tank skid plate and trailer hitch. We were informed by the dealer that the old hitch and skid plate would be removed and a non-functional trailer hitch would be installed. Requiring signature that we would not tow with the vehicle. It came with both an offroad and towing package from the factory which we do use. This recall repair does not bring the vehicle back to original design criteria!.
