Tl-the contact owns a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the power steering went out. In addition, water spilled from the vehicle water pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 210,000. Ad.
I was driving my Jeep to work all of a sudden it bucked and backed fired 2 times and then completely shut down no steering but was able to get to side of road restarted got it back home this has happened many times cant count how many times, I have had it towed home 4 times this year because of this problem and couldnt restart sometimes it bucks and feels like its going to shut down but restarts by its self without turning key this happens at any speed changed tps, crank sensor, starter, fuel pump, pick up coil,distributor cap and rotor plugs and wire, alternator now inside dash lights are starting to flash dim and bright. I bought it 2009 used with a little over 100,000 miles ran great but the last couple years been having trouble with this situation every time I change things it will work for awhile and then starts to act up again.
97 Jeep cheeroke tsi, power steering pump bracket broke. Resulting in loss of steering control. Vehicle then goes to battery drain to keep engine running. This loss can result in accident or death. There was no sold associated with the break that could be heard from inside the vehicle.
Power steering pump bracket broke in half making the vehicle very difficult to control. Because of the broken bracket the fan belt came off so there was no cooling system or alternator and the vehicle overheated almost immediately. Was able to get the vehicle off the road and had to be towed to a repair shop.
Bracket that holds steering pump broke, causing loss of steering. Dealer has repaired vehicle. Due to the faulty bracket, dealer had to replace the tensioner and serpenetine belt also.

Catastrophic failure of pwer steering pump mounting bracket at interstate speed, suddenly loss of power steering, power brakes, engine cooling and alternator. . . Everything in the belt drive on the front of the engine. Nearly lost control of car, managed to get off highway. Repaired by dealer, head tech said "I see them all the time, Chrysler won't do anything about the bracket, still using it depite numerous failures. Been the same for 5 or 6 years now. " is this a $35,000 car made of junk at american tax-payer expense(remember the big government handout to Chrysler)? and, Chrysler consumer complaint bureau basically said, "too bad. Your problem, not ours. ".
While driving lost power steering, and it was very hard to steer. Vehicle was taken to dealer for repairs, and they replaced the power steering pump mounting bracket.
Vehicle pulls to the left when driven above 25 miles per hour. The power steering pump leaked fluid and the fuel gauge is inoperable (even after repair).
Entire power steering pump pulley broke causing power steering to fail and smoke to enter passenger compartment of vehicle. Nlm.
Vehicle pulls to the right. Fuel pump went out.
