My vehicle stalls out randomly while driving at different speeds. It has happened turning off of an off ramp from the freeway and while driving strait down a city street. Also a couple of time I parked and turned it off and it would not turn back on for 10-15 mins. All the incidents of stalling out, after I wait 10-15 mins it will start back up. There are no warning lights on the dash.
Purchased a vehicle from carmart in 09-29-2015 a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee a couple of months later the vehicle shut off while I was on the highway, it started right back up. I contacted carmart and on January 82016 vehicle was sent to a shop parking clean where they change my tp sensor. It ran fine for a few more months and began to shut off again in parked,driving down a residential area and even on the highway. Back to carmart 6-9-2016 car went to sears fixed throttle body,radiator got car back on 6-16-2016 on 6-18 back at sears cars do fuel filter 6-20-2016 car still shut off agreed to take back to shop on 6-28-2016 as of July 5th 2016 still have not received my car back. Unsure what is the source of problem however when it shuts off the rpm goes all the way to zero . This is endangering me and my family however I still have to pay my car note.
I'm continuing having to replace the lock actuator on the driver's door & also each door locks on the remaining doors. This has been costly & time consuming and needles to say without a vehicle. Some of my friends have the same concerns regarding the locks. Hopefully I can get ya'll to assist with getting a recall for these locks. Any assistance is appreciative.
The Jeep will start and run fine first thing in the morning, after shutting off the vehicle and coming back it will start initially, but then stall and will not start again for a few hours.
The ac in summer is cool on the driver and warm on the passenger> in winter the driver freezes and the passenger gets the warm air. Just after purchasing vehicle I came across on the web an article showing the problem and their quick fix by cutting an opening in the box on the passenger side and changing the door. The dealer version repair was shown with the Jeep dash completely removed.
I purchased this Jeep and not even a month after having it cut off with driving down the road. It will say I have no gas and the tank will be full. At times it would start other times it had to be towed (3 times in fact). This has happened 5 or 6 times at all different speeds. I took it to a dealership 450. 00 later still had the problem. This is very scary for the Jeep to shut off while driving. I have two small children. I am wondering how is there not recall for this. As I have read clearly this is not just my Jeep. This is a huge safety concern. Another thing I also notice I can hit a bump then it beeps and tells me my hood is open. Which it is not. I love my Jeep but cant enjoy it bc scared that it will cut off at anytime.
Heater a/c for 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. . . Failure to operate, ridiculas to repair. Makes driving in cold climates impossible, due to window fogging and ice buildup. Diamler Chrysler should recall and repair all Jeeps from 1999-2004 who are all known to have this problem. They should not be allowed to disreagard the customer complaints, with regards to this. This was repeated year after year, with no easy solution for customers to repair. An excessively costly and not gauranted procedure which could create more problems, even when professionally repaired, this is a safety hazard for those who must drive in cold climates.
A defective a/c part failed behind the dash, causing extensive repair costs.
I'm uncertain of time of incident. The driver that hit me blew a stop sign and crashed into my rear driver side which caused my truck to do a complete 360 hitting 3 cars while I was spinning.
We are in a disupute with dialmerchrysler regarding a engine repair with our 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee laredo. On Dec. 23, 2002 we broke down on the highway because a rocker arm spring broke causing a rod to break through the valve cover and drop down into the engine causing $1600 in damage. The Jeep has 43,000 miles on it and is no longer under warranty. We purchased the Jeep in Feb. 2002 and since that time we have replaced the rotors, a leaking seals and now the engine problem. When we approached Chrysler about possible assistance with the repair bill, we were told that there was no previous history of enging problems and we did not purchase the extended warranty so they would not help us. Our point is that it would have been doubtful that the engine would have had this kind of problem (nor should it have this problem) with such low miles. Also, we were never offered an extended warranty at time of purchase. When we discussed this with the salesman he stated that cost was an issue when buying the Jeep so he didn't want the price to be any higher. Isn't cost always the issue when buying a new car and shouldn't we have been offered a chance to purchase the warranty? we feel that a $6 spring shouldn't cause $1600 to an engine anyhow. Is there any way you could be of help to us?.
While backing out of a parking space consumer shifted the vehicle into drive, and depressed the accelerator pedal, and vehicle accelerated at a higher speed. Then, consumer shifted the vehicle into neutral to gain control and stop. Dealership serviced the vehicle, and replaced the software program.
