In motion the car shakes violently. I was on the freeway and almost wrecked the car from the shaking. I have bad back pain and scared to drive. My 4 year old is terrified of getting near the car.
No start.
This vehicle has a tendency to "stall" at any moment, unexpectedly. I have had the dealer and other mechanics try to fix this problem with no luck.
I was driving the Jeep and took it to the repair shop to get the muffler fixed upon getting it to the shop the security key light came on and the Jeep wont start also the key can be removed from the egnition when in the on position . The key can fall out while driving . . . The recall was never fixed and the key wont work with the Jeep now and im told its a $1,800 fix .
Leaking gas tank.
The ignition switch will not turn on with the key at all.
Vehicle stalls after reaching operating temperature while negotiating traffic or driving, regardless of conditions or driving habits, at highway speeds or in a parking lot. Has stalled numerous times at worst possible times. No codes. No warning: in traffic. At stop lights. Pulling into gas stations. Etc. . . Extremely dangerous!!!!! date submitted is the last time it happened. It has happened at least 10 times just this year. Looked on many Jeep forums and seems to be a recurring problem!!! (see for yourself). Please help!!!!.
Takata recall.
While parking the Jeep along the street in between our other 2 vehicles it took off at full speed in reverse crashing into our truck then took off full speed forward and crashed our car the car was a total loss the Jeep was a total loss. The Jeep was idling and went to full throttle without touching the pedal and was also not in gear.
The car will stall with no warning while driving at low and high speeds. I purchased the vehicle 2 months ago. It has 123000 miles on it. It has stalled while driving 45 mph as well as 15 mph. It usually restarts after it has been turned off and put in park. I replaced the fuel filter with no change in it's stalling problem. Has been seen by mechanics, no one has an answer. Many forums online are filled with similar stories about Jeep cherokees stalling while driving. It is very dangerous. There is no recall for this model, I believe there should be before someone gets rear ended on a freeway or other fast moving road. I am unable to drive my vehicle because of this problem. This has happened at least 10 times. Twice I have required a tow because the car would not start back up within a half hour.
Chrysler Jeep was suppose to fix my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee they are refusing to fix the Jeep that is already on the recall list I call and they said if I put a after market hitch on my vehical that I would be putting myself up to get killed in a low speed car crash. They told me not to put a hitch on it that they put a factory hitch on my vehical I took Jeep in they refused to do what they said they was going to do and there needs to be some federal liability as Jeep already said they were going to do this and the federal government all ready deemed it a death threat.
The engine is not cooling correctly when sitting still. The electric fan that keeps the engine from overheating does not come on, whether sitting or running. Got stuck on the side of the road trying to get the vehicle cool and had to drive 20 miles per hour in a 45 mile zone and the engine shut down in the middle of the road. The thermostat was changed, but the vehicle continues to overheat, and as previously stated, the electric fan does not come on at all, sitting still or driving.
My wife was driving in traffic and the Jeep stops in traffic. It took her s couple of minutes to get it franked. As soon as she pulls off it shuts off again. Really in Friday traffic herd in atlanta. Dangerous!!.
For safety, modification of rear end of Jeep to prevent a fire. I was not notified.
Traveling on major hwy at 35 mph without warning engine shuts off won't start back for several minutes and when it does smoke rises from underneath the vehicle smelling like its on fire . It does this up to 4 to 5 times daily now and have seen the same thing being said by lots of other people that have changed everything from cpm all the way down to every sensor have no idea what to do next please help.
Vehicle just stalls regardless of speed several sensors replaced still stalls dealer unable to fix other mechanics also cannot fix many theories on internet none work yet many people have the same problem no solution.
I was driving on the freeway when my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 4. 7l just stalled out without any warning. It took about 1 hour to start back up. Then it died about five times after that. My Jeep also stalls out when I'm sitting at a stop light waiting for the light to change than bomb just like that my Jeep stalls out. Most the time I can start it, but some times I can't start my Jeep until the next day. I almost get slammed about 10 times already. I don't feel safe in the Jeep. . I replaced my fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, crankshaft position sensor, camshaft positions sensor, battery, battery terminals, and my oil pressure sensor. Nothing has helped my stalling! nothing! I took my Jeep to 2 different mechanics and they can't figure it out. I also called the Jeep dealership here in albuquerque, new mexico and I talked to the techs and mechanics and they all said they never seen that before. I call bs on that. If you look on google and type 2000 Jeep stall out, there's 100's even 1,000's of people dealing with the stall out problem. I don't feel safe in my Jeep at all!! I don't even want my 6 year old in the Jeep when I'm driving, sad thing is this is my only car!! please help investigate this problem. Thanks 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 4. 7l.
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee heat not working - a common complaint of many Jeep owners seeking to file a class-action lawsuit against daimler Chrysler Jeep. $900 + is beyond absurd to pay to fix this common problem that Jeep should have recalled and fixed for free.
I have a blend door problem with my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. I have not taken it in for the repair yet, but I purchased an extened warranty. This issues does seem to be a problem, and when my warranty expires I hope not to have this as an issue after it gets fixed.
Both tail light assemblies stopped working and was cited by a police officer. Replacement was ~$500. Rear lift gate lock actuator is broken, so cannot open lift gate. Right rear door lock will not allow opening from inside. Shift sensor/solenoid has gone bad twice leading to problems with shifting from gears (revs really high before shifting). Rotors are constantly becoming warped and brakes have to be readjusted. Left blinker no longer works and to fix it, the dealership told me they have to replace this entire engine block for about $800. Power window lock no longer works. Other than that, car runs great :).
Keyless entry on drivers side does not unlock door. Cause is unknown. Consumer is also experiencing electrical problems.
While in motion, consumer was rear ended. The rear seat headrests were ejected from their holders striking the consumer and the passenger in the back of their heads causing deep cuts. Also, the air bags failed to deploy.
A recall was issued due to the gas tank location. Now Chrysler says my vehicle does not need it. I don't want a fiery crash if I get rear ended. Pleses help. Thank you. James kirwan.
