A few instances have occurred where I will be driving and the vehicle engine will immediately shut off as the vehicle is in motion. The electrical components (radio, headlights, dashboard, etc) still function but all gauges stop working. I then have to pull over, put the vehicle in park, and then restart the vehicle. It will then start up right away. On a couple of occasions, the vehicle engine has started back up on its own without me doing anything and drives fine after that. This seems to occur mostly when I release my foot from the accelerator but has happened when I am trying to accelerate. Has only happened when driving on city streets, never on a highway.
I was driving when all of a sudden my vehicle cut off in the middle of traffic. Also, Sunday morning I was driving to church when my vehicle would not start. I was told my a mechanic (not on duty) that it could be my fuel pump, wiring or catalytic converter. Please look into this matter as soon as possible.
Engine dies without warning while stopped and moving. The gauges go crazy. The gas gauge indicates empty even though there's half of tank full. Did tune up, replaced spark plugs and ignition coil, gas filter.
Just had the eniter exaust system replaced due to the cats were plugged . Replaced cats and all O2 sensors with factory oem's and now the car give 3 different codes , p0141, p0138, p1499 . After the codes showed up took back to shop and had to replace all the O2 senors again to the tune of $500. 00 plus labor. And went to drive and get tested only to fail again, for bank 1 sensor 2 high voltage detected. Now shop is telling me there was a problem with the pmc and it needs to be replaced to the tune of another $450. 00 plus labor.

Again with my feet on the brake pushing as hard as I could car went through 3 walls of my home before stopping. Car is total loss in possession of geico claim # 0011757900101272 at geico tl lot in florida. Air bag light illuminated. Dealer stated open recall for air bag module and front sensors. No parts available. We care driving an unsafe vehicle with no support from dealer. We need a safe vehicle to drive. Dealer also denied recall for faulty fuel tank in event of rear collision. We have a check engine code directly related to fuel venting/purge system. Dealer will not repair. In summary we have an unsafe vehicle that has 2 potential ways of causing bodily harm.
Chrysler has issued over 10 recalls on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee and have failed to complete any of the required recall service. They have not received any parts from their suppliers to replace the defective parts covered under the recall. The amount of affected vehicles are over 950. 000 Chrysler has still failed to resolve any of the outstanding recalls on my vehicle, and has not offered substitute trasportation after 9 months that the numerous recalls were issued, and not resolved due to zero availability of replacement parts. This is a major safety liability that Chrysler is conveniently ignoring.
My ac system is faulty. Hot and cold air blows at the same time. Windows constantly fog up and I can't see. Getting blend door codes on the climate control reader.
We were driving Jeep on highway and all was normal. We stopped for fuel and when we started the car it idled very rough and started smoking. Shut car off and upon inspection the rocker arm had been pushed through the valve cover. Appears to be damage to valve but do not know extent of damage yet. Engine had approx. 108,000 miles on it.
Failure of heater to deliver warmed air to the passenger side (this model has a dual heat control). In investigating this problem, it became clear that this is a very frequent issue with this model, often occurring at 50-70000 miles, filling many chat room threads, and even leading to an independently manufactured fix. (the "heater treater"--easily found by google or ebay). The problem apparently is due to cheap plastic blend door mechanisms which often break and require total dashboard removal to fix (~$1100-1500). . Read more...
1)unknown, purchased as pre-owned 2)vehicle won't start right away, turn key to start then wait approx 10 seconds and try again, typically will then start, all other electrical parts would come on. On two occasions vehicle was towed because it would not start at all. Entire electrical system went haywire, no gauges, power windows and locks did not work. Heat/ac blower randomly works. 3)computer was replaced, starter was replaced, ignition switch was replaced. Problem still exists, but much more infrequently. Was advised by phil long Jeep repair that there is no part available to repair blower on heat/ac unit. Windows fog and freeze, no visibility. This has been an ongoing problem for many months. Complete failure occurred sometime in March 2007.
