Have a popping noise in steering or somewhere in front end. I can't use my accelerate button on steering wheel while it's in cruise because it won't stop acceleration once you press it. I was going about 55 and was trying to accelerate to 60.
Electric door lock on drivers side makes a loud buzzing sound when trying to engage.
I was driving and smelled burning. Pulled over on a four lane highway. I then saw smoke. I drove a block away to a safe spot got out of the car and called 911. The firefighters extinguished an electrical fire that started in my passenger side door. They believe the motor in my door caught fire. I had to have the vehicle towed. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do. Thank god I had just dropped my son off at school so no injuries.

I was traveling on a side street in huntington, wv about 30 mph when all of a sudden the motor shutdown everything shutdown and I tried to move the Jeep out of the line of traffic. This is very difficult since there was no power to the vehicle. I was headed toward I-64 on the on ramp when all of a sudden it happen again. Car were coming toward me and with much difficulty I manage to get it partially out of the road. I finally got it started back up and it happened on two other occasions. I am afraid to drive my Jeep. I need help in knowing what to do. Autozone put the instrument to help diagnose the problem and check indicated the battery is good. What should I do?.
Heat stops working - issue with doors inside engine - spoke with mechanic said very common on these vehicles and should be recalled.
When driving down the highway at speed the engine stopped working along with auxiliary systems such as power brakes and steering. The tachometer slowed to 0 rpm and we were able to pull car off the side of road. Upon stopping, the car restarted and no odb codes were identified. This occurs randomly through has a tendency on cold starts after vehicle has been sitting for while. Since loss of all power it is a tremendous safety hazard.
Cannot get the power windows to work. . After closing & opening the driver door and turning the inside lights off & on it works very rarely. . This started in early June 2014. . . . This is unsafe when my grandchildren are in there car seats and the windows decide to malfunction. . I am afraid they could exit the Jeep while it is moving causing injury or even a fatality !!!.
I first received a recall notice in Jan 2013 and have made numerous attempts to have the recall corrected to no avail through a registered Chrysler dealer. I am told the parts are just not available as of yet. I was traveling down the road for approximately 30 minutes at 45 mph when suddenly the airbag light came on. It stayed on for almost 10 minutes then went off, then came back on again within 5 minutes. I was very frightened since the recall notice states that it is possible for the airbag to inadvertently deploy after the airbag light comes on. I called the dealer again as soon as I returned home to advise them and remind them they had me on a list. However, I was told the parts are still not available, so they gave me a toll free number 800-992-1997 which I called and was told once again that as of now the parts are not available and to just continue driving the car. I hope the airbag does not deploy while I am driving causing a heart attack or fatal car crash.
Intermitent failure of right stop light and tailight even after bulb replacement.
The vehicle was parked. A fire began from underneath the driver's seat which is believed to be an electrical fire. It destroyed the seat and surrounding area. No one was in the vehicle at the time. It appeared to smolder for several hours. The fire was detected early enough so that the entire vehicle was not affected.

Turn signals not working, but hazard lights work.
For an american made car this is very upsetting. Seems like american cars are made to break down and not last. A way for these corporations to make money. My vehicle has no heat and has been viewed by a mechanic and the cost are increasingly unfair. With on 62k miles, this isn't right!.

03' Jeep Grand Cherokee with 100k miles. Has been well maintained and taken care of. I'm in the navy and am stationed at ns norfolk where there many tunnels. So, I'm driving home from the naval station and my Jeep is running perfect, then all of the sudden nothing. It just dies. I let it sit a few minutes after barely making off the road and it started back up. Ever since it has started doing this periodically and always no prior indication. I've done some research and noticed that several Jeep owners are have similar issues. This seems to me to be a major safety issue to me. I can only imagine my wife and child trying to get through a tunnel, or a curve anywhere and it just dies. All of the sudden no power steering, no power brakes and traffic zooming eveywhere. I would be curious to see how many accidents have occured as a result of this. It seems to be difficult to diagnose, but appears to be a defect with the pcm shorting out.
Power steering leak. . . . . Left turn signal failure it works occasionally.
Right rear taillight assembly, brake and tailights repeatedly burn out. After having dealership replacing bulbs multiple times, there is now a problem with the assembly as it is not providing power to the bulb sockets.
Total loss of heat on the passenger side. Now the drivers side has no heat either. I live in canada and we need the heat to work or the vehicle is totally useless if you can't see out the windshield! Jeep dealers are aware of the problem, but won't fix it by recall. They expect you to pay anywhere from 800-1500 for them to fix it and a loss of your Jeep for at least 3 days. This is nuts!.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee . The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, the air conditioning unit failed as well as the blinkers. The dealer advised there was a short in the circuit that continuously caused the fuse to fail. There were no repairs. The failure and the current mileages were 74,000.
2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Connected melted on heater blower motor connector. Replace blower motor , connector and blower resistor.
2003 Jeep laredo driving normal, car just stalls(stops running) it occurs as often as you drive. The dealer changed a shaft cost 497. Still stalling, going back Monday I will keep all parts now on. I trouble shot this it seems to be a design defect. This is not safe I was on the expressway with my kids in the left lane. I almost !@#$% myself(not safe).
Jeep Grand Cherokee heating and ventilation system. Vents blow hot on one side and cold on the other for no reason. Creaking noise coming from system. 2003 wj 2. 7 crd.
Research has shown all 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokees with electronic dual climate controls (ac) will eventually require major repair in order to cure hot air/cold air blowing from vents when they're not set to do so. The cost to repair this issue, which has been known to pop up again after another 50k miles after repair, is generally $800-$1500 from a dealership. My Jeep has this issue and it is caused by poor design from crysler, they use cheap plastic parts.
