2 recalls have not been taken care of by the manufacturer. I purchased this vehicle 2 years ago and have noticed that the seats do indeed over heat. The airbags haven't deployed thankfully, but I'm not comfortable taking any chances. Do I have to pay a dealer to complete these repairs? also, since I have had this vehicle, my blinkers and brake lights do not work consistently. They were in operable for almost a month. I had a mechanix check them, and they said they were dine. Homer's auto shop florence oregon) I didn't drive at night for almost a month. Then my blinkers just started working again. All the fuses are fine, and no other electrical issues. Brake lights started working also. Up until 3 days ago, a driver behind me pulled around next to me at the stop light to tell me the brake light was out. I checked it when I got home and it was fine.
Airbag light has stayed on even after a battery replacement. Check engine light now stays on for no apparent reason. That’s all, thanks.
I purchased a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee 11/27/18. On 12/24/18 I stopped at a stop sign where the road was icy. I did not hit anything. When I began driving again I heard a "thunk" noise and the vehicle felt like it was stuck in 4 wheel drive. I pulled over to the side of the road twice, put the vehicle in 4 wheel drive and back into 2 wheel drive but it didn't help. I drove the vehicle to my friends house which was about 2 miles away and parked it. I've sent 2 letters to the dealer because he would not respond to my phone calls. I filed a complaint with bbb. He did not reply to them. I did speak to the owner where I bought the vehicle after the first letter. His wife answered the phone and then I talked to him. He agreed that if I towed the vehicle to his shop I would be refunded the $2400 I paid for it, which I did. I was told by 2 other mechanics it is unsafe to drive. He was not there. I had to leave the vehicle there, I didn't have $ to have it towed again. He has never returned any of my calls. He has my $2400, the Jeep and a vehicle I gave as a trade in. I have copies of the 2 letters I sent him and my correspondence with the bbb. H&s motors 377 whitney st. Rochester NY 14606 owners name harry coates thank you!.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v046000 (air bags). The dealer scheduled the recall repair appointment as well as for a manufacturer recall for the rear structural enhancement. When the contact arrived to pick up the vehicle, the contact was informed that the oem trailer hitch needed to be ordered and the parts were not available to order the parts to receive the recall repair concerning the air bags. The contact was unable to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The dealer continued to state that they would follow up with a solution, but the contact received no follow up response from the dealer beyond a reasonable time frame. The manufacturer was notified. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
The a/c n heater blow hot and cold air thru different vents.
While driving there is a shutter at all speeds. On this day after hitting a small bump the wheel started shaking as slowing down it violently shook where you coundn't hold the wheel. I had blisters trying to control it. I was told brakes bearing etc. Replaced brakes caliber rotors tires wheel bearing still did it replaced steering damper and the violent shake was gone yet still had shutter at all speeds. Ive been all over the front end and had several mechanic look to we cant find anything about the shutter. While driving 12/14/2014 making a curve hit a bump in road and the violent shake started again almost put me in a 4 foot calvert. I been reviewing the same complaint all over the internet affect all types and years of Jeep. What is the true problem so I can fix this before it kills me or someone else.
Power steering leak. . . . . Left turn signal failure it works occasionally.
2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee heater/defroster failure. Intermittently while driving, the heater/defroster stops blowing hot air and blows cold. I live in a city where we get snow and fog, and temps go below zero. Having a malfunctioning defroster is a safety issue. This has occurred in a snowstorm, and I had to park the vehicle beside the road and call a family member to pick me up because I could not keep ice from forming inside my windshield. I was stuck beside the road with a 2 year old child, in the snow! sometimes turning off the vehicle and restarting will help, other times, it will randomly turn back on.
Automatic climate control system blows only cold air from the right side even when high heat has been selected. Thousands of Grand Cherokees are affected by this problem. Repair costs are in the $1200-1500 range. This should prompt a recall order.
A/c and heating blower motor and power window motor failure. These problems have occurred in my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited. After researching I have found well over 180 people who own Grand Cherokees (various models) between the years 2000-2004 with these exact same problems. Chrysler/ Jeep customer service will not respond to my comments on this issue.
