2 recalls have not been taken care of by the manufacturer. I purchased this vehicle 2 years ago and have noticed that the seats do indeed over heat. The airbags haven't deployed thankfully, but I'm not comfortable taking any chances. Do I have to pay a dealer to complete these repairs? also, since I have had this vehicle, my blinkers and brake lights do not work consistently. They were in operable for almost a month. I had a mechanix check them, and they said they were dine. Homer's auto shop florence oregon) I didn't drive at night for almost a month. Then my blinkers just started working again. All the fuses are fine, and no other electrical issues. Brake lights started working also. Up until 3 days ago, a driver behind me pulled around next to me at the stop light to tell me the brake light was out. I checked it when I got home and it was fine.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
While driving under normal conditions I heard a pop and the left corner of the driver side seat fell forward. The base of the seat rocks back and forth now. When vehicle accelerates, the seat rocks backwards and when the brake is applied the seat rocks forward. I have done some research on this issue and have found numerous complaints and a refusal by Chrysler to recall and fix the seat bracket. . Read more...
I am the original owner of the car. Within the last two weeks the right forward bracket on the seat frame has separated from the seat holder. In researching the net I find that this condition is rather wide spread. Used frames are available but that would seem like doubling down on a poor design and spending $400 bucks for an iffy repair. . Read more...
The drivers side seat began to wiggle and in checking found that the brackets mounting it to the floor had broken.

We are the original owner's of our Jeep Grand Cherokee (2003) and the front driver's seat started wobbling from side to side, which makes driving disorienting particular when going around curves. When taken in to the shop we were told that the brackets attaching the seat frame have failed and are broken and need to be welded or need a replacement seat. After researching this issue we found that this is a common issue and replacing the seat or re-welding the seat brackets will only result in this happening again because brackets are made of cheap metal. I am very fearful that the seat will cause an accident (due to the disoriented it causes when driving) or that an injury will occur because the seat will completely detach in which case the seat belt is basically worthless in preventing injury during an accident. Given the number of complaints on this issue that can be found in a basic google search it is disgusting that daimler/Chrysler has done nothing to remedy this situation.

The driver's seat to my 2003 Jeep cherokee laredo sheared away from the support brackets. I have been trying to find a seat or find some way to fix it. It is a safety issues.
The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact heard a snapping sound from under the seat and noticed that the front driver side seat began to rock back and forth abnormally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised that the adjuster weld to the front driver side seat was fractured and would have to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
I had just bought this vehicle and taking the off ramp in a hard arc while slowing down I felt the drivers seat move. I only had a couple of hundred yards to go so I waited to check it when I got home. The front left seat bracket had sheared away leaving the seat sitting at a funny angle. This is a dangerous thing to happen. Luckily, no one was hurt.
The seat frame on the drivers side has broken in half. This should be a priority safty recall as this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident. Seems more like a design flaw by a company cutting corners. See the attached website for more Jeep owners that have had the same problem with their vehicle. . Read more...
For the second time in 5 years the drivers side seat support has broken. Both time the break has occurred on the front left corner. The broken part is of the support assembly, it is a tube that pivots to allow for up/down adjustments and holds the weight of the seat.
I was driving my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee and I noticed my seat starting to wobble. Finally I noticed that the seat bracket snapped on the driver side. This is a total safety issue. I have taken it to Jeep for repair and they advise there is no recall. . How can this be?. Oh and what's the point of wearing a seat belt of the seat isn't even strong enough to stay secure to the vehicle.
Driver's side seat just all of a sudden snapped and I was laying in the backseat looking up. The seat track just broke.
My front driver seat bracket has snapped in 4 spots. This now leaves my front seat very un-secure to the vehicle and is very shifty. This is a safety issue that needs to have a recall as this has happend to many other people with the same model Jeep as mine. The seat brackets and mounts are of poor quality and break easily. As result of this, my seat belt is useless because if I dont have a seat that is secured to the vehicle, what good will a seat belt do in a collision? chrylser is aware of this problem yet are doing nothing about this. They beg for our tax dollars to bail them out of financial hardship but yet they wont help consumers that buy their products with real safety concerns. I just hope it doesnt take a death to occur foro them to open their eyes. Recal the damn seats!!!.
Front left seat rail retaining bolt tore loose from the seat bottom frame rail and is resulting in a front left to right rear rocking motion. This makes the vehicle unsafe to operate because of drivers seat instability, and uncomfortable while driving due to abnormal seat position. It should be mentioned that there has been no abusive operation or abnormally high or hard usage of this vehicle.
