The vehicle stalls . Shuts off when driving it runs like a dream and out of no where it shuts off.
While in motion driving on a busy two way city roadway street, the vehicle lost power, lost brakes, no steering and no electrical while in motion, that endangered my life from a head on collision. Currently no power, the windows are open, the windshield wipers are stuck.
I've had problems on and off with the power windows, door locks, interior lights and stereo system. The power windows/door locks do not work. Unless I turn the interior dimmer light switch to the off position, the lights stay on. When this is done, I cannot see the displays (I. E. , speed, etc. ). The stereo system will play and the cd player works; however, I cannot see the display at all --- channels, track #s, etc. All of these issues, except the stereo system, create driving hazards.
On April 14 20014 the vehicle mentioned stalled out on my girlfriend driving down the road. She was able to start it back up. On 4-16-14 it stalled on her again while driving she was able to get it started . On the 18 it stalled in a parking lot at luch but gt it started and agian in the middle of an intersection after wrk and had to have it towed home. We just bght it March 11 so I contacted the dealer and are supposed to speek to him on mnday. On 4-20-14 I was wth her and it stalled out on her 3 times during our travels of aprxmtly 30 mles. When this happens all power to control the vehicle safely is lost.
I have a 2004 Grand Cherokee . Several months ago, I started to have stalling issues. Hot or cold, dry or wet, first drive of the day or last, it didn't matter. The engine would cut out in the middle of driving regardless of speed. I had to put it in neutral, recrank it and put it back in drive just to avoid accidents, otherwise it drifts out of control. At first I thought this was an isolated incident but now it happens almost everyday. It's dangerous but I have no choice to drive to get to work and from the internet a lot of other Jeep users have the same issue. Why no recall on this issue? obviously there is a defect.
