1 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2025

Lights on the dashboard were blinking, there were no turning signals, the gas gauge was not working, and the check engine light was flashing. My safety was put at risk because I could not let people know when I was turning. I took it to the dealer, and they said there were too many codes, but none were active for them to fix the problem. So, I have to drive the Jeep, but this is dangerous. The warning keeps showing me that there is a problem with the ignition switch that was previously recalled. I want this taken care of, please.

2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2022

Entering my exit I noticed my 1month old was no longer sound asleep but screaming I turned around noticing she was being approached by smoke arising from the back of the vehicle. As panic set in I immediately tried to come to stop moving off the exit. At the same time clear fluid gushed out of the hood and smoke immediately entered the front of the vehicle making it difficult to come to a stop see or breath. I went blank out of fear or pure confusion as I reached for my infant in the back as quickly as I could at that point she was. No longer crying. I shot out of the vehicle as fast as possible and stayed in a safety spot attempting to shield her from the sun as I watched the Jeep ignite and continue to smoke itself out witnesses gathered around one allowing me to sit in her vehicle with my baby until help arrived. No warning signs once so ever no indication of an over heating vehicle drove perfectly and not frequently it may be inspected at the towing it was taken to as for the safety of my newborn and myself we both could’ve tragically ended up gone because I was not and would not have thought twice about leaving my daughter in that vehicle. She just got into this world to be taken that fast it wasnt an option. I’ve been very uneasy since the incident with absolutely anything that functions or is electronic. Continues replay in my head over and over again in detail and nothing new pops up truly a very traumatic experience and an unexpected loss. Appointments I can’t make it to have had to cancel I do not have family here especially not close by to help me this accident was by far caused by the vehicle because it definitely look like he had a mind of its own suddenly.

1. Engine over heating problems numerous times and coolant leak. Even after replacement of radiator and hoses. 2. Went to pick up Jeep from mechanic due to oil leak, when they brought it around, I noticed pink fluid dripping. Had transmission serviced in March/April 2020 due to a leak. , flushed system, new filters and fluid. Last few months vehicle says "transmission over temp" a few times. Replaced transmission pan, due to a leak, new fluid added, in September 2022. Vehicle indicated "transmission over temp" a few weeks later. Didn't drive it a few days, haven't seen the warning sign yet. 3. Numerous oil leaks. Serpitean belt replaced along with other repairs. 4. When I bought vehicle, it had no heat and coolant was leaking in on passenger side floor. 5. Jeep shifts to 3rd gear and won't shift down or back into drive until I turn off vehicle and back on. 9 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/23/2017

I just had my Jeep inspected and was told that a manifold bolt was broken and would cause other issues if not fixed. Damage to manifold & gasket, etc. ) they also said that this is a common issue with Jeeps chryslers and doge engines.

10 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2017

This model Grand Cherokee has the same problem as the 07-and up. The wireless ignition module fails. I have been stranded 5 times, that's 5 tows- the dealership originally thought I was part of that recall, but had to back track. I was told "it's not broken enough" it is the same exact part as the p57 recall for the 07, so why not for the 05? there are numerous complaints from customers regarding this issue and the dealerships telling us to go away after we spend money on parts that are clearly not the issue.

15 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2014

When backing into parking space the car took off like a rocket ship/full throttle (5. 7 hemi) like it had a mind of it's own. The result was property damage (unknown amount) and car damage over $7600. 00 not including car rental for 2 weeks. Chrysler sent inspector to body shop and their determination was they found nothing wrong and said the case is closed. A Jeep/Chrysler dealership replaced the throttle body January 31, 2014 under warranty. We know this was not driver error. It was the scariest 15 seconds of our lives and could have easily killed someone. Now we wonder when will it happen again? we would like to know, has there ever been an engine going to full throttle accident involving a 2005 Jeep/Chrysler product?.

16 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 06/06/2014

On at least 4 occasions, my Jeep has randomly lost power such that the power steering, accelerator, and brake systems stopped working. Each time it has occurred, it was at a low rate of speed, so the danger of a catastrophic accident was low; however, one time it occurred when I was on a hill and I couldn't stop the Jeep from rolling down hill. I had to coast through a stop sign and only came to rest because of a curb on the opposite side of the street. Luckily, no cars were coming in the opposite direction.

17 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 05/25/2014

I bought my gd cherokee used with 71k miles. I just had my first oil change before heading out on a camping trip for the weekend. On the return trip, I had just turned onto the highway (55 mph zone). I am 6'4" tall. The previous owner was shorter than me. The seat was in the wrong position (I now know). While switching from gas pedal to brake pedal, my knee hit the key in the ignition. The car turned off. I immediately reached for the key and turned the car back on. It lunged the way a manual transmission dose when the clutch is let out too quick. I moved my seat back away from the wheel. Now I drive it from farther back, which means I need to sit up straighter, which means my head hits the ceiling often. I have the limited edition and I love everything about it except the seat can't go down far enough for me to drive it comfortable without turning the car off which has got to be horrible for the car.

While driving down the road, the rpm started floating and the Jeep started hesitating like it was out of gas. It was happening every once in awhile, now it's constantly and it's getting horrible gas mileage. Here recently, the interior lights on the ac/heat part have went out and the time part on the radio started lighting up like a heater and is extremely hot but the radio still plays.

20 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 10/04/2012

The air bags light coomes on and stays on, the fuel system light comes on and stays on. When checked by mechanic was told some sort of sensor. The speed control does what it wants it can go from 45mph to 20mph and the vrhicle tries to cut itself off I have to emediately put it in neutral to prevent that from happening.
