1 Accelerator Pedal problem

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 14v43800 (electrical system) was received in July 2014. The dealer and the manufacturer were contacted on multiple occasions and the contact was informed that the part was not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts was available. A failure related to the recall was experienced but the specifics were not available. In addition, the contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 58,000.

2 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

- the driver of a 2006 Jeep cherokee stated that the accelerator pedal extended to the floor when shifted into drive, which caused him to crash into a vending machine. A pedestrian sustained a sprained ankle, cuts and bruises. As of October 3, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle. The current and failure mileages, VIN, and purchase date of the vehicle were unknown.

3 Accelerator Pedal problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2007

The contact owns a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving 5 mph the vehicle accelerated uncontrollably and without warning accelerated 30-40 mph. The contact was unable to control the vehicle for a quarter of a mile. The contact attempted to apply the brakes and was unable to stop the vehicle. The vehicle was driven into the snow located on the shoulder, which allowed the contact to stop the vehicle. The road conditions were wet. The vehicle smelled as if it was on fire. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and is currently being diagnosed. An electronic diagnostic test on Feb 22, 2007 indicated due to the performance liilluminating the vehicle needed a new ignition switch. The vehicles current and failure mileage was 18,300.
