2 Wheel problem

I was driving straight at approx 35 mph on a rural street when the front left tire pressure dropped to 1 psi. After inspection I discovered that the tire had side wall separation nearly around the entire tire.

3 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/12/2012

This second event, driving 2007 Jeep srt8 on side street, tire pressure went abruptly to zero as steering went out causing vehicle to veer off road and onto shoulder and grass. Upon removal of left front tire, tread separation cracks were apparent, some as long as 1-1 1/2 inches, at least one of which separated through to airlock. Inner edge of tire very mushy along 14-16 inches of where separation occurred. This event is almost identical to an occurrence that happened September 2011 on the same vehicle, rear tire displayed separation on inner edge over large area. Tire dealer advised likely due to pothole, which was not an experienced event [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

4 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked when he noticed that the rear passenger tire was flat. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that the tire pressure monitoring system was failing due to corrosion. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 59,000.

5 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that each of the tires intermittently became flat because the tire pressure monitoring sensors were corroded. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer after each failure to have the tire pressure monitoring system replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 24,000.

6 Wheel problem

Failure Date: 05/22/2007

The contact owns a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while reversing at approximately 5 mph, there was an abnormal noise coming from the wheels and brakes. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50.
