2 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2018

Have owned used 2009 Jeep grd. Chrke. For 10 months 2 months in to owning noticed at times vehicle would loose power. Pressing gas pedal did nothing. Had to pull over shut Jeep off, wait a minute then start Jeep back up. This worked and the problem went away. But over the months it became more frequent. I took it back to dealer and he could not find anything wrong. No codes from engine. I have had the necessary maintenance done on the Jeep. This week the problem began on Friday and continues on. My Jeep will not go over 25 mph. Taking it to authorized dealer and Jeep repair on Monday. But having read the complaints on this site I have very little faith this problem will be fix!!! even though my complaint mimics several of the complaints sent in to those that manufacturer Jeeps!!!.

3 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2016

Every time I fuel my car fuel backs up the the fuel filler neck and spills all over the ground this seem to be a problem not only in Jeep cherokees but in the wrangler too from what I understand this is a every fuel up ongoing problem.

4 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 03/12/2015

Vehicle shut off while driving, key was in the on position suddenly shutoff causing no power steering, power brakes, instrument panel and gauges went to zero. Was able to restart after a few minutes. Drove home, went to start vehicle 1 hour later and nothing happened. This has happened before and is similar to several other complaints for this make and year. Chrysler has no recall or fix for this problem and is not willing to recognize it as a serious safety issue. Someone will be killed because of this or already has, dead people do not complain.

5 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2014

Vehicle is equipped with the 5. 7l hemi engine. Upon starting the vehicle, idle was very rough, and vehicle shut off. Check engine light came on. Immediately, estarted the vehicle and experienced no further issue, however cel stayed illuminated. After a couple quick trips around the neighborhood the cel turned off and the vehicle ran normal. A couple days later while accelerating from a stop at a traffic light the vehicle stalled, and the cel came back on. Restarted the vehicle, and it ran normal the remainder of the day, cel stayed lit for a while, but eventually turned off. Approximately 4-5 days later, the vehicle stalled again while waiting at a traffic light. Cel came on. I restarted the vehicle, and drove it home. I pulled the code for the cel using my odb reader, and it was a p0129 (barometric pressure out of range). I took the vehicle to the dealership, by the time I got there the cel was no longer lit. The dealership was able to find the stored code, but said that they could not reproduce the problem. They checked the map sensor, and said it was fine, but refused to take any further action since it was not exhibiting any issues aside from the stored code they found. Searching the internet, I've found multiple people with the same issue on this series Grand Cherokee, many, as I, who are frustrated with no resolution from the manufacturer. Dealer has advised me to come pick up my vehicle, without any fix or explanation as to what is causing this. This is a safety issue as the vehicle can and will stall in traffic creating a potential for a traffic collision or loss of control.

6 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2013

Tl-the contact owns a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received a recall notification of NHTSA campaign id number 13v252000 (fuel system, gasoline , structure), however the part needed was currently unavailable to perform the repair. The dealer and manufacturer were unable to provide an expected date for the remedy part to become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Js.

7 Other Fuel System problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2013

While attempting to park vehicle, with only brake being applied, and motor allowed to idle, vehicle accelerated. All attempts to stop vehicle by hard application of foot brake failed, and vehicle collided with a building. Subsequent investgation by insurance adjuster determined the vehicle was fast idling, possibly a tps issue. Despite many complaints to various Jeep authorized servicers, none ever disclosed a problem with this issue. Since new, the vehicle transmission has always had a tendency to grab when approaching a steep incline at idling speed, with sudden acceleration if gas pedal is gently depressed.
