The passenger side active headrest restraint deployed while car was parked in my driveway and not in use. It can not be repaired. Plastic is broken inside.
Headrests popped a few months of each other while I was at a stop. I thought someone threw something into the car! hit the back of my head!.
Upon pulling out of a parking spot, the front passenger seat headrest safety mechanism activated, propelling the headrest forward, for no foreseen reason. The vehicle was not and has never been in an accident. Upon inspection, it seems that a plastic part within the headrest cracked, thus causing the safety mechanism to fail and deploy on its own.
Drivers seat headrest popped forward to the extend position while sitting in car at a store parking lot . Engine and all electrical items turned off. This is only suppose to happen when the airbags are set off. These headrest cost from 400 to 700 dollars.
The driver side active headrest deployed unprovoked. The vehicle was not moving or on when the headrest deployed, it was stationary and parked in a driveway. There was no warning that the event took place or any notification from the vehicle message system.
