1 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2023

We were about an hour away from home (in the mountains) and our Jeep had been running fine. We had stopped for a while and when we got back to our Jeep and started it, just about every warning light on the dash board came on and wouldn’t go off (the brake light, check engine, airbag, abs, etc. ) the middle of the dash was also flashing different messages…”service park assist and service power steering”. We started to drive and the car was jerking really hard while it was shifting gears. We think it was getting stuck in a high gear because it would hardly drive after we stopped at a stoplights. We turned our hazards on and just tried to make it to an auto parts shop. Our windshield wipers were automatically coming on and the speedometer and rpm needle were both going up and down really quickly. We spent just shy of two long months without our Jeep while it was in the shop. The mechanic ultimately replaced the clock spring and the tpim. Meanwhile, I joined a Jeep Grand Cherokee facebook group and it seems like this is a pretty common issue in Jeep Grand Cherokees. It was a costly repair and was very difficult for us to go without our second car for two months. I really feel like this issue needs to be addressed by Jeep.

2 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2023

I was driving and the battery light came on with a chime, within seconds the car smelled hot, the air conditioning went out, road hazard lights on dash indicating flat tire came on, windshield wipers were going on and off at different speeds and windows were opening and closing and then did not work at all. I got the car into the driveway as I was en route to our home. As I got car to the driveway I lost all power. I had the same thing happen in 2019 - report # 11255268. I do not know where to go to get the vehicle repaired or it the old recall will apply to this problem once again. Should I have the car towed to a dealer? I have my own private mechanic that addressed the problem in 2019. Please contact me ASAP. I don't know what the plan of action should be. Can I bring it to my own mechanic or does it need to go to a dealer. Please call or send me an e mail as soon as possible as I am without a vehicle. My number is 847-867-3921 or e mail me at kemahgal@aol. Com. Or sherlumpkins@gmail. Com. Or use both e mails. Thank you!.

3 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

The leather dashboard on my Jeep Grand Cherokee is delaminating (I. E. , detaching from the dashboard). Chrysler is aware of the problem and issued an "x-81" extended warranty (which they failed to communicate to consumers) and is now refusing to take steps to correct the issue. This problem causes a distraction while operating the vehicle and if it continues to worsen it may impede visibility.

4 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

Dashboard pad cover is wrinkling and detaching from the dashboard top. The area most effected is on the passenger side. The covering has detached about 2 inches away from the windshield and has detached from the air vent cover. The detachment has caused the air vent cover to rise. The air vent cover is no longer flush with the top of the dashboard. While driving, the distortion in the dashboard pad covering and air vent cover distracts from my peripheral view and when I'm checking the right side or viewing the right view mirror. The service dealer at koons tysons corner, va was notified in may 2020. I was told there had been a recall to repair the dashboard pad, but parts were on order and there was a backlog for repairs. On December 28, 2021, the service center stated the dashboard pad replacement was expected June 2022. Now, each time I call reference the replacement, I'm told the vehicle is on a waiting list or I get a service person who has no knowledge of the recall or issue.

10 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/24/2018

When parked, I tried to lock car using key fob, which armed the alarm but did not lock the doors. I tried using master power lock on driver side door to lock it, but this didn't work either (none of the doors will lock). Separately, after leaving this parked spot, I tried using the windshield washers while driving to clean the windshield, but the sprayers did not work. Only the wiper blades activated. After a diagnostic test by repair shop, I'm told the totally integrated power module needs to be replaced.

11 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2017

Hello, my dashboard continues to warp and I'm concerned this is causing impairment of my defrost and possibly my airbag. As you can see this is an ongoing problem with Jeep according to numerous threads on Jeep forums. Also, a news story is provided here: https://youtu. Be/le_4rvabook.

12 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2017

The paint along the top of the car windshield is bubbling up, rusting, peeling across the top of the windshield line. It continues progressively to get worse all along the top of the windshield. We had a few car repair centers look at the car- they had to have multiple people come out and look at it because they had never seen anything like it. They said the paint was extremely thick on the roof and along the windshield line. It should never be that thick. They said this should be fixed in a manufacturer recall as it is a manufacturing defect and is probably affecting other cars painted at the same timeframe as mine. The paint issue continues to get worse. The car repair estimators said the roof and surrounding windshield paint need to be replaced or this will continue to corrode. This car has never been in an accident or had the windshield replaced.

13 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2017

I took my car for three recalls one of them was the brake booster. They called me the other day to pick it up. I went and they told me everything is fixed. The problem wasn't fixed. I almost crashed 4 times and I had to call a tow truck. I called the dealer and they said if I want them to look at the car and find the problem they would charge me. I told him it's the brake booster and showed him a video to prove it. He declined to help me.

15 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2016

Last few days were extremely hot in the north east. My car was parked in an open parking lot over the weekend and the front windshield developed a crack due to extreme hot weather. The dealer and manufacturer (fiat/Chrysler) told me the standard warranty expires after a year. I am in the process of getting it replaced thru my insurance company. I suspect this to be a manufacturing defect of the tempered glass.

16 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2015

Electronic stability control malfunction indicator light randomly goes on and off while vehicle is in operation. Automatic wiper blades randomly activating while vehicle is in operation when no moisture or rain is present. Automatic key-less entry/exit system intermittently fails to work when using door front handle sensors. Dealership has recommended replacement of tipm under extended warranty in effort to resolve issues.

17 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/04/2015

In my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee overland model with a leather dashboard, the leather material has separated from the dashboard and is affecting the winter performance of the front windshield defroster by partially blocking the air vents. This presents a safety hazard that will only get worse with time until Jeep issues a recall to fix or replace the faulty dashboards on these vehicles.

18 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2015

The leather dashboard is shrinking and coming unglued from the dashboard frame. The defroster vents are now affected and being pulled by the disintegrating leather. I am concerned that since the dashboard coating is no longer affixed to the car, the dashboard will be ripped off and become a projectile if the airbags inflate. The problem exists all the time but the threat exists most when car is in motion.

20 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2014

Informed by technician that I have the right rear shock to be leaking oil, causing the car to bounce, poor control, rusty brake pads and possibly more problems in the future. The vehicle also have been selected for an important safety recall (brake booster permaturely corrode. I not satisfied with all these safety problems for a car I paid off, bought brand new, only two years old, with such disturbing problems, constantly taking it to the dealership it is inconvenient. The seat belt is difficult to click, un-click and I am very disturbed. I am constantly at the dealership repairing and worrying about what will be next. Chrysler has sold to consumers like myself a poor quality vehicle.

21 Wiper problem

22 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 12/05/2012

The side view mirrors are an obstruction of the driver's view when turning into spiraling parking lots. The mirrors are so large, (larger than necessary to see what is on the side of the vehicle) that I have to sit forward and look around the mirror or above the mirror, or below the mirror to see the line in the street. It is very hard to see where the lines are when driving into a parking space or an atm machine. I am a tall person so I imagine a shorter person would really have trouble with visibility when driving and trying to see what is on the sides of the vehicle. I have to be very cautious when driving because I have almost hit other vehicles when turning left due to obstruction of visibility. I can see through the side view mirrors, I just cannot around the mirrors. This is definitely a design defect because I cannot see anyone not having a problem seeing around these mirrors. My husband complains about the mirrors and everyone that drives my Jeep. The mirrors need to be smaller and lower so that you can see over and around them. I have never had this problem with any other vehicle and I fear that there will be many accidents or near accidents with drivers if this defect is not corrected. I am very cautious when driving in certain situations because of the visibility problem. I am considering selling the vehicle (which is not a year old yet) due to the safety issue of the mirrors.

23 Wiper problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2012

Purchased new 2012 Jeep g. C. SUV in Dec. 2011. Appx 6 months later a windshield crack appeared from center-bottom of windshield near front center speaker on dashboard. Crack started from bottom edge extending upward for about 2 inches, then grew 8 inches up, turned left for 12+ inches. Replaced windshield at dealer ((p104355-northwest Jeep in houston TX) several months later ($$$). Then, after about 3 months, another similar crack occurred from center bottom, moving upwards, turning left and branching upwards to right. Performed spot repair to stop crack growing, did not work. This week, crack appeared in driver's front side window diagonally 40 degrees to left from center-right inside door panel to middle of side window rim near outdoor rearview mirror. Will take car to dealer this week. In all instances, no apparent outside impacts (rocks etc), so firmly believe all 3 cracks are stress related to either chasis body and/or temperature change. Checking with various Jeep blogs (edmunds etc. ), many others reporting similar incidents, but mostly originating around center windshield rearview mirror.
