3 Transmission Not Go Into Gear problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2017

Engine caution light came on while driving on the interstate 5, called dealership for guidance I was informed that as long as the engine warning light does not blink it will be okay to drive. I scheduled an appointment for a week later. Within the week the car would not stay in reverse and later it kept on popping out of reverse. I also notice that the gear was not changing properly and seems to strain to drive. I took the vehicle in for a look at and informed the service supervisor of the reverse condition and that the "r" in the shifter kept on blinking.
