Recall 24v-838 has been open on my vehicle since November 2024. I have contacted multiple dealerships and they have no updates on when parts will be available to complete the recall. Possible issues related to the recall pose serious safety concerns.
The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v838000 (service brakes, hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal grinding sound. The electronic stability control (esc), traction control, and check engine warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the brake lights illuminated while the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The dealer informed the contact that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Today after I parked my 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee and locked it I noticed my brake lights stayed illuminated. I got back in my car and confirmed that I was in park and my parking brake was on and my brake pedal did not feel stuck down in any way. I also tried turning my headlamps from auto to off. That didn’t resolve my brake light issue. I restarted it and put it in gear and drove a little and my fiancé confirmed from outside the car that even when in drive and moving without my foot on brake my brake lights stayed on. I got out and locked it again and then tried my remote start which did not function. I then decided to try drive around a little more and see if it would reset itself. Nothing changed with driving. Then after driving around I tried turning off my park sense button and the brake light went off and back to normal. Once I was parked again I retried the remote start and it worked. When I looked up this issue it sounded like symptoms of recall z48 which was repaired June 29, 2022 by my dealer. Tomorrow I will see if it happens again and if it will start and shift without brake pedal pressed as that is also related to recall z48. Could the repair for recall z48 have failed or was not done properly by my dealer? just for reference my Jeep only has 11,000 miles on it.
Uconnect screen is delaminated. Vehicle features change by themselves. Advanced electronic systems are connected through the system. Horn, lights on off by themselves.
Outstanding recall z-48. This recall was first identified in June 2022. The dealers cannot fix the problem because Chrysler corp. Has not provided a solution. This is affecting the operation of the vehicle and probably reducing the resale value. Five months seems to me too long a time not to have a solution. Can the government give them an ultimatum of either provide the fix in the next 30 / 60 days or provide a cash discount on trading in the vehicle.
SUV airbag waring light flashes off and on. Lights randomly come off and on when truck is parked.
Both headlights blew out at the same time while I was driving at night. No visibility. Dangerous situation. No displayed message. Dealership replaced both bulbs. Cost was $200. They stated that it was not an electrical problem. Too much of a coincidence!.
Both head lamps went out on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Manufacture say it is maintenance issue, but both going out at the same time is too much of coincidence. There must be a electrical issue (which is covered under warrantee) that cause this.
