The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact state while driving at various speeds, the engine overheated and there was a misfire coming from the engine. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The message that the auto start/stop system needed to be serviced was displayed, and that the engine was overheating. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on several occasions, and the camshaft, the water pump, and the egr were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the camshaft phasers and the oil control valve were replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

2 Gas Recirculation Valve (egr Valve) problem

Failure Date: 11/03/2022

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the vehicle started overheating and the engine overheating light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over and waited for the vehicle to cool down and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the mechanic stated that coolant was leaking into the engine and the egr cooler needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 20v699000 (engine and engine cooling) and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to file a complaint. The failure mileage was 41,115.
