The contact rented a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he became aware that the running taillights were not functioning. After restarting the vehicle, it returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA campaign number 22v544000 (exterior lighting), but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
While my wife was driving at night at 70mph, the left light selector knob near your left knee was set from the usual "auto" position to the "0" position. She was trying to figure how to make the dash and radio lights brighter at night while waiting for me thus turning this selector knob that did make the dash brighter and not affecting the outside vehicle lights. When I got into the car and she was driving, she could not activate the high beam lever to stay permanently "on" by pushing the level forward as usual. Pulling the lever back engaged the high beams as long as you pulled the lever back but could not active them permanently on by pushing the lever forward. As I was the passenger, I went into the uconnect panel menu to the "light section" and un-checked the "running lights" green check mark and all the lights went off while driving ! no head lights, no running lights, no rear lights, no outside vehicle lights while driving 70 miles per hour at pitch dark. Is this suppose to happen. I noticed in the owners manual that the canadian version did not have this "0" position. Bottom line: are you suppose to be able to turn off all exterior lights while driving at night completely off? should I have gotten a warning of "this function is not available while the vehicle is in motion"? my youtube video you can review: https://youtu. Two safety related issues are present on the vehicle, confirmed by dealership, and being actioned via fca star tickets: 1) blinkers are blinking at a non-standard speed 2) side view cameras are intermittently disabling themselves, requiring dealership intervention each time service records attached.
When making left or right turn using the turn signal, the headlight related to that turn signal goes off. This happens when the headlight control is set on "auto" for the headlight to come on at dusk. This is an extremely hazardous condition not only for on coming traffic but also for the driver because of elimination of lighted visibility to the area turning into. Jeep mechanics have repeatedly voiced excuses for a hazardous design flaw which needs to be recalled and corrected. Please please please research and take steps to remedy the issue. I'm fearful of not only receiving a ticket but also because of the hazard this condition presents. William peterson.
The adaptive high beams have stopped working on my grand Jeep cherokee l. When you push the lever forward, it should engage the high beams, but it does not. The only way to use the high beams is to pull the lever back (flicker action) and hold it. This is a dangerous way to drive without having high beams.
See video of failure. Https://drive. Google. Com/file/d/1p0a9lzrf9qy4rl0hcocd9tyhz7survpq/view?usp=drivesdk vehicle electrical failure on wiring harness(ES). My concern is that if happened while driving it could have become very dangerous.
Had vehicle through multiple warning lights, crash protection inop, lane assist inop, abs inop, power steering inop, turn signal didnt work. This happend twice. The first time taken to shop and said it was fixed but had it less than 50 miles and same thing happened. It was going down the highway at 70mph and steering went out with no turn signals. Turned vehicle into dealership looking into vehicle buy back.
The interior radio and heat and air display brightness. The brightness changes independently of lighting stays on 15 min to long at dusk, come on 17 min to quick at dawn causing a blinding effect for the driver putting anyone in vehicle and other drivers at risk. Took to dealer twice first time they said all of wagoners operated like this second time they said it was a software programming issue. There is no warning when this happens just super brightness.
