Before this recall work was completed, I had never experienced the vehicle dying on the highway. Since the recall "fix," however, the engine has cut out completely 4 separate times while accelerating at high speeds. The most recent time happened today (August 3, 2026). Losing all pedal response and motive power in fast-moving traffic with no warning is terrifying and creates an extreme hazard for myself and everyone around me. ?history of vehicle issues & extended shop time ?this sudden highway stalling comes on top of severe, ongoing electrical problems that have plagued this Jeep. Altogether, the vehicle has spent months sitting in the dealership shop, yet the problems remain unfixed: ?post-recall engine shutdowns: 4 separate complete power loss incidents while accelerating on the highway (latest occurrence: August 3, 2026). ?unresolved battery drain: ongoing parasitic battery drain that kills the battery, requiring multiple rounds of diagnostics without a solution. ?pervasive electrical glitches: frequent system glitches, including frozen touchscreens, instrument cluster reboots, random dash warning lights, and connectivity drops. ?media hub issues: hardware problems involving the media hub module. ?requested action ?the recall fix did not solve the safety hazard—it seems to have triggered a new, life-threatening stalling issue on the highway, along with the string of other issues, it's unsafe to drive.

Drivers seat has inflated due to the massage seats and lumbar support inflating with air. Driver states the lumbar support will move on its on and cause the seat to inflate while driving. This problem has cause the back of the seat to snap and unattached to the main seat cause discomfort and safety issues.

I am submitting additional information regarding NHTSA complaint #11725438 involving my 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series iii. The original complaint involved the front passenger seat lumbar support unexpectedly inflating to maximum firmness without any occupant input. The lumbar support became extremely hard and uncomfortable as though it had inflated to its highest setting on its own creating a large rock hard bulge in the passenger’s back. Since filing the original complaint, the same defect has now occurred in the driver’s seat. The driver’s lumbar support suddenly became rock hard without any adjustment being made to the seat controls. The change was sudden rather than gradual happening overnight. This defect has now occurred in both front seats of the vehicle, suggesting a possible system-wide issue rather than an isolated seat component failure. The unexpected inflation creates a driver distraction and can affect comfort and vehicle operation while driving. This complaint is intended to supplement and update NHTSA complaint #11725438. I request that this additional occurrence be added to the existing record. Many other wagoneer owners have experienced this same issue as I see repeated complaints of this happening on the wagoneer and grand wagoneer owner’s facebook pages. There is no way to remedy this situation on my own. The vehicle is not just uncomfortable, it is unsafe in this condition.

Lumbar support in driver seat noted to be randomly inflating and deflating while driving & over weekend the lumbar support had completely inflated and misshaped with the lumbar rounded out so much that is was extremely uncomfortable to drive, and the seat back noted to be detached from the seat back.

No warning light was illuminated. The front passenger’s seat air bag failed to deflate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,500.

Front passenger head restraint deployed without any accident or reason. Just deployed without cause snapping a plastic bracket so it can’t be manually pushed back into place you have to purchase the entire component. The other oddity is the piece that you need to replace in question has been discontinued. Stellantis has a recall referenced as (20c) but my particular vehicle doesn’t fit in there timeline for that recall. I have a child and it is a head restraint that deployed is an airbag, which is extremely dangerous for anybody that could’ve been sitting in that spot or behind the seat. The piece itself is 700$ there is no wholesale for this particular piece so you’re looking at any place that would charge you $700 and then whatever the service or labor fee is which is minimal so we’re talking at least $800 for a piece that has to be with or compatible with a certain part number which is discontinued or it will not work with the system.

The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred with the front driver's side seat several months later. The front driver's side seat was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failures. The failure mileage was 51,000.

I own a 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series iii (VIN [xxx] ) that has experienced repeated, unresolved electrical system failures which pose a direct risk to my safety and to the motoring public. The vehicle has already required fourteen warranty visits, with thirty-one days out of service and twenty repeat repairs. The problems include multiple no-crank/no-start events that have left me stranded, four premature battery failures, and ongoing electrical malfunctions affecting the instrument cluster, infotainment system, hvac, rear camera, mirrors, power running boards, and other electronic modules. On [xxx], after the latest no-start incident, the dealership’s service manager told me directly that the issue was “more than just a bad battery. ” despite this acknowledgment, the only action taken was to replace the battery for the fourth time and declare the vehicle “repaired. ” Jeep’s customer care initially agreed that the history showed a deeper safety issue and promised to open a star engineering inspection, but that inspection has never been scheduled. Instead, I am being pressured to pick up and drive a vehicle that the dealership itself admitted has unresolved electrical problems. This is not just a matter of inconvenience — the risk of sudden electrical shutdowns while driving, or the loss of critical safety systems such as brakes, steering modules, and cameras, presents a clear hazard to my family and others on the road. A vehicle with this history should not be returned to service based only on repeated battery swaps while the underlying defect remains unidentified. I respectfully ask NHTSA to investigate the 2022 Jeep grand wagoneer series iii for systemic electrical failures and to ensure that stellantis does not force consumers to operate unsafe vehicles that continue to suffer from recurring electrical shutdowns. I have taken my Jeep into the dealership last year for this problem, it was “fixed” but has come back. Noticed the light stuck on last week. Today while I was driving the panel changed to italian and my seat moved abruptly. Many people on online forums express experiencing the same problem.

The problem has been confirmed by lander’s Jeep dealership in little rock, ar, which acknowledged the issue but advised that diagnosis and repair would be costly and would not be covered under my warranty or extended service contract provided by mopar. No warning lights or messages appeared prior to the failure. The issue occurred suddenly during normal use. Online research shows countless similar failures in 2022+ Jeep grand wagoneer vehicles, with consistent reports of lumbar/massage module or valve failures causing uncontrolled inflation. Some owners report repeat failures and electrical issues related to the seat module. Given the repeated nature of this failure across multiple vehicles and the potential safety implications, this issue should be investigated as a possible safety defect affecting occupant protection systems. My driver side electrical seat will not recline to the forward position. . . . I reclined it back but now it won't recline forward. . . . Everything else works . . . . My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe has developed a recurring safety defect involving the front passenger seat lumbar-support system. Without any input from the passenger or driver, the pneumatic lumbar bladder will randomly begin inflating and continue until it reaches maximum inflation. When this occurs, the lumbar support protrudes significantly into the seatback and forces the passenger’s torso forward from the normal seated position. The passenger cannot reliably stop or reverse the inflation using the seat controls. This can interfere with proper seating posture and seat-belt positioning and creates a potential safety risk, particularly if the malfunction occurs while the vehicle is moving. There is no readily accessible owner method to manually vent or deflate the bladder when it becomes stuck. Correcting it directly would require disassembling the seat or accessing pneumatic components, potentially affecting warranty coverage. As a result, the passenger seat can become effectively unusable until the vehicle is serviced. The malfunction is unexpected, can distract the driver and passenger, and physically alters the occupant’s seating position without command. I believe this is more than a comfort issue and represents a potential safety defect in the powered/pneumatic seat system. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether similar unintended lumbar inflation failures are occurring in other 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee 4xe vehicles and whether manufacturer corrective action or a recall is warranted.

The brake force will jump suddenly and fall back when the brake pedal is even maintained at a constant level while the vehicle is being braked to a stop or decelerating. This malfunctioning will lead to imprecise control of the distance to the front vehicle. Engine wobbling when it is fully stopped with "d" gear engaged, especially when the transmission temperature comes up after a few hours of driving. It can be clearly felt that the entire vehicle is bouncing with the engine. Engine misfires when crawling after a cold start. Engine speed will fall suddenly and then back up. The vehicle will shake badly, which can cause improper reaction and improper operation of the vehicle speed. The passenger seat squeezes the center console on the right side and the plastic panel comes off, which exposes a sharp edge to the passenger's lower body. After the dealer's inspection, there is no obvious cause for this defect, passenger and center console are all in their places. The rear quarter window on the passenger side water leak. Metal rattling noise from the left front side (driver side) of the cabin when the vehicle is running on a bumpy road, especially in hot weather. Noise comes from the rear left suspension when the vehicle is decelerating.

December 24-23 was in red lobster to pickup food about 5 mins my grand wagoneer was on fire.

My husband heard a rattle in the back /middle of the car. He investigated the sound and found the passenger rear seat missing a bolt. The vehicle was taken to the dealer today for repair. A bolt was missing and a nut was loose. I hope it is not missing any other parts.
